OK fine, you can play team ball...you are not the selfish bastard LB made you out to be...Your defense is admirable and we appreciate that fact that you show up, giving the effort despite the bum knee slowing you a bit this season...This team desperately need you to step up your game...They need a guy to show them how to leave it on the court night in and night out...These losses on back to back nights is just unacceptable...DLee should not be the only guy that plays his heart out every game...It should be you...No one on this team can take over the game except you, maybe Craw, but you know what I mean...You have to be a damn leader for once in your life...This is the time!!!...This is the place!!!...This is it, man...This is your career defining moment...It doesn't matter that you were 20 and 8 for 10 years...We don't care...What we want to know is that can you lead this team into a playoff spot...Can you get Eddy to play a little defense for once in his damn life, can you get Frye to hit someone hard or to throw it down on someone once this season...Man I have defended you over the last year in this forum...I can't anymore...If you are a good as you think you are...It's time to show it...There is no next year for you...The kids have a future, but you don't...It's time for you to pick up your game and be the damn leader you think your are...JKidd would do it, much as I hate the mother, So would Nash...Where are you???...No more excuse, this is the time!!!...

i wanna see Steph get into someone's face the way Patrick used to do when Starks was playing like a knucklehead... thing is, i don't think he carries that type of caché in the lockerroom... the guy who can do that on this team is Q Rich because he's done it before & has shown he's not afraid to get on guys in the past... Q needs to step up & be the leader that Steph has shown he's incapable of being.

I agree but as much as I like Q, we can't rely on him when he's wearing a suit on the bench instead of that #23 jersey. The leadership has to come ON THE COURT as much, if not more than off it. This stretch might define Steph's career, y'know. He's shown he can play defense and he's shown he can be a true point guard. Now let's hope and pray, he can LEAD.

can we bring in Oakley to kick guy's arses in practice & get these guys to play defense & hustle on the boards? i bet he could still regulate in that lockerroom.

Marbury has been trying harder than ever this year but just not getting it done and the reason is his body is breaking down. Steph does not do enough work in the offseason if you remember he came in to this year out of shape and when he finally got into shape he started palying well then his body broke down thats what happens when you go up and down up and down with your body. Think about it if Stephon was averaging 17ppg and 9apg shooting a higher % what do you think our record would be? much better... he just is not playing well

Dude! I want nothing but the best. I want little ass starbury to dominate Shaq and Timmy and yes Dirk! I want major rebounding from this guy, I want him to put up 20-8 every night, make Frye into a superstar and teach Curry how to play D. Forget Zeke! This is starbury's team and he should be leading us to the promised land. Okay, I stole that one, but hey, the dude needs to steal about 5 a night to be on my team. Anything less, he's still a bum! I also want him to apologize to Larry Brown for disrespecting him and talking down to Brown, the great Hall of Fame coach. He should also send Brown some money to make up.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Marbury is a guy who, like Isiah, subscribes to the theory that any team takes years, and years, and years, and years, and years, to form chemistry.

So now that he's seemingly embraced the distributor role, this can be counted as his first year in Isiah's X-year plan.

That said, seasons with injuries and new players don't count; so with turf toe, Balkman, Jeffries and Collins this year is a write-off. So NEXT year may be considered Marbury's first season in the X-year plan. Unless we add new players, his knees hurt, or he launches a new shoe venture. Then it's another write-off.

These things take time...

Steph is only trying harder this year because he realized that everyone hated him and he was getting all the blame, and people were seriously considering running him out of town, i will not call anything he has done this season admirable, although it has been nice to see. He was a selfish bastard at the beginning of the season sulking and not cheering on his teammates, his transformation has been good for the team, and he has shown leadership finally.....

he needs to be a little more assertive though

He happened to be "on" tonight. Many games he attempts to take over and he's off. We get distant floaters, bad threes, "heat checks", desperate attempts to draw contact, bad passes, dribbles off his foot, etc, and it can kill our momentum.

But tonight it did work and he looked good doing it. There was a point in the game where I could see he was in good form. He missed something easy, might have been the technical, and he came back to the bench somewhat smiling. What a relief to not have to see that glum, sourpuss expression and towelhead all the time. And with the mutiny off his teammates seem more tolerant of him too.

You are so right....I tell you this though..I rather see him with the ball than to see Craw...And even if he is off, he can penetrate..i think Craw is more willing to settle for the jumper than Marbs...I think it's all confidence with Marbs...He can keep us in more games than Craw can...
