I posted this in the game-thread but I think it's true. This team is the epitome of an mediocre team.

This team has its ups(last night)
This team has its downs(tonight)

How exactly do you push a mediocre team to a good team when you have no draft-picks and you are millions upon millions over the cap? I guess what I'm really trying to say is, how the hell is this team going to take the next step without the means of getting the personnel to take them to that next step?

Frye's trade value has plummeted. What do you think we can get for him?

It sure is.

I liked how this team came back with the 2 players this team is built around sitting on the bench watching it.

The team has peaked IMO

I think that makes them a 40 win team and I'll take that for this year..

Growth comes from within, letting our guys get used to the NBA and used to playing together. I aint trippin about a tree when i can see the forest.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I agree with you but that's taking the stance that Frye/Curry/Lee are going to get so much better that they are going to be able to carry this team to a championship. I don't want to sound like a dick, but I don't think thats anywhere near possible.

The perfect sign of a Mediocre team is this.....Tonight's happenings tell it all

When 2 rival teams within your division play each other, with one of them clearly being undermaned talentwise due to injuries. It's a lock 1 team will lose and a 99% lock the depleted team will lose.

You being a medioce team, play another mediocre team and get BLOWN TO SMITHEREENS almost all game and...........

FAIL TO MAKE UP ANY GROUND IN THE DIVISION

Another indication is spending 2mos months and counting being 5-7gms under .500 and being 2-5gms back of the Division lead.

Did anyone expect that this team was going to go from 23 wins to something more than a .500 team at best? There's still time for this team to get it together and get to .500, but to do so that would mean they'd be playing well above .500. But yes right now they're mediocre.

The bad start is really the only reason this team is below .500 at this point. For the most part they've been playing around .500 after the poor early start. A strong finish might get them up to around .500. I still don't see the point of bashing the team when they had to come into this season and establish a base off of a totally wasted season in which nothing got accomplished. They've made tremendous strides this year and it's not just about this year and NEVER WAS! This team is about the next 4-5 years not just this one. This is just the start for this team.

This brings me to the next point. WIth this being the start of the process, why are we even talking about a Championship so soon? How do we know what this team is gonna be like down the line? We don't know if next year Frye has a big year like Curry has had or maybe Lee. Anything is possible. I do know that these players have talent that hasn't yet been fully tapped.

Good points. I think we have all seen enough to know that there is talent on this team. And I am talking about guys like Lee, Fyre, Nate, and Balkman, who are all in their 1st or 2nd season. All of these players have the potential to be substantially better than they are now in 2 more years. In fact, I think Balkman, if he develops a jumpshot, and Lee, if he develops a jumpshot and improves on defense, have the potential to be all-star worthy players (meaning that i doubt they would ever be selected but they will be playing at an all-star level). I think most people only see the negative because they want IT gone, but if you look at this team objectively, there is reason to be optimistic about this team's future.

So then you do admit this was a 23 win team and not just a Larry Brown aberration? I eman you cant have it both ways. All we heard from the Isiah jock riders last year was how this team is soooo much better and should be .500
Now we here .400 ball is a good improvement and what did you expect?

The excuses keep on flowing. Plenty of teams have had dramatic turn arounds. The Pistons went from 32-50 to 50-32 and all the added was Rick Carlisle and Cliff Robinson.

What you guys dont realize is even if this team does improve there is a very low ceiling. We owe pics, we have no lottery pick this year, we have no cap space and the guys with trade value are the ones holding a barely floating ship together.

Then again, maybe if Zeke can 'coach' Eddy to jump for rebounds and lift his arms on defense we can be a 50 win team. Hey.. when Isiah's in charge there's always next year right?

here's a question, and i'm not trying to kill the team here (i don't particularly care where our record ends up this year). but if we've been a .500 team since the second month of the season, have we actually been improving since then? i.e., we picked up a lot after the first 15ish games... but since then, the record hasn't show the same gradual improvement.

what will it take for the next step record-wise? just time? a trade? a new coach? all are arguable answers IMO.

We have a bunch of good young players that need to develop, and old players that are going to break down. Will that tradeoff take us to the next level? Probobly not. But i hope so

you stay patient, keep developing the young guys you have on the roster, & don't make any further bad trades to kill the cap any further.

Who are we building around? Let's say it's Curry and Lee (what I think you would say). Shouldn't you find a way to get complimentary players around them?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

If Isiah knew what the **** he was doing he would start

Curry/Frye
Lee
Balkman/JJ
Q/Crawford
Marbury/Francis

Balkman does to many good things not to be on the court for 15 minutes a night. I agree this team is really ****ed, we need to try to package frye with crawford i think the second you move jamal you improve your turnovers decision making, etc.......

Miami, Lakers would be willing to take crawford i bet for expiring deals and maybe a draft pick.....
