Posted by newyorknewyork: it's funny, players like Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington and Joe Johnson and other guys who just gun and shoot shoot shoot seem to give this team fits, but better teams, teams that run more methodical plays like the Lakers, Jazz, Cleveland, Pistons we seem to be able to guard okay and stay in the game. I don't know what that means. edit: I guess it means we're better in the half court game for the most part and that we have to improve our defense and offensive execution to the point where we can force our tempo on the other team, like the really good teams do. The Knicks are actually made for the playoffs. What we do isn't a gimmick. It's a power game and we enforce our will on teams inside and on the Boards. We attack teams in the post and with penetration and it's relentless. That style translates directly into a playoff setup. If we had more perimeter shooting we'd be one of best teams in the league. You put a P. Pierce on this team and it's no contest.
I just look for the Knicks to fight and claw their way thru this game and hopefully get a win. we're so deep that we should be OK on a 2nd night of back to back games. Just slow these guys down to a halfcourt game and we've got'em. |

Posted by nixluva: our guards aren't consistent enough for that. they make too many dumb turnovers and bad shot decisions. we need more consistent guard play and I might agree. but you have to be able to enforce your will, your pace on a team. that starts with defense and guard play, both of which we are lacking in on a consistent basis. Warriors are a tough team and love to play at a fast tempo. The Knicks NEED to win this game going into the break. I'm tired of a big losses after big wins. Win this game tonight.

Posted by nixluva: Thats why we need to develop Frye as the second option...He is the only other Knick who can put the ball in the hole on a consistent basis...All this guy need a confidence...Isiah needs to run plays for Frye as a secondary option to Curry...Knicks in half court scheme in the playoffs featuring these two guys can be a tough out...Our only problem will be getting stops on the other end of the court... |

We better watch out tonight. You know what happens when you mess with the warriors...
Heh sorry, in a Scrubs drive today. Get Balkman in the game tonight! We could use some defense with out the JJ butterfingers. [Edited by - matt4281 on 02-14-2007 7:48 PM] |

How many times do the Knicks follow up a good win with a bad loss?
Get ready for a Valentine's Day Massacre. If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Speaking of highs lets get into the all-star break on one. These fellas get a win tonight and it's gonna be a fun all-star weekend for all. The Knicks can't sh!t the bed again if they are as good as some of them apparently think they are. I want a W tonight. No more excuses. Back-to-back...too bad. Flew all the way across the country...too bad. Good teams beat teams that they should/could. The fellas must step up tonight and get it done.
Let's keep pounding Curry. Foul trouble willing, I look for Frye, Lee and Curry to get a good portion of play together tonight. I also look for Balkman to play 18-20 minutes of fast passed action. They're gonna run, so we better have on our running shoes on and Jamal/Q/Steph better have their shooting touch. I hope our depth shows up tonight, I just hope we don't get too deep. Please no Rose... Let's have some fun "It was good," Curry said. "I killed Malik, Jerome. The usual suspects. It felt good."

Posted by islesfan: The point you seem to be overlooking is that they actually got a good win last night. We're on the road out west and any win is a good win. Maybe tonight will be different. Maybe tonight they'll keep the pressure on and get a much needed win. They'll have to play smart and not let the Warriors run all over the place. They're a worse defensive team than we are, tho they can score. We'll have to drag them down in the mud with us and make it a halfcourt game. I think we can get this one. |

Violet Palmer is whistle happy. I hate when she calls games.

IT is a genius 1-2. 7-2, and 6-0 have been the starts in the last three games.
