If team takes on the personality of its coach, the Knicks have displayed resilience.

Despite all his warts, Isiah Thomas has imparted a "grind it out" mentality to this young team where it battles through adversity, even on the road. Coming back after the Utah loss is a positive sign of better days to come.

Enjoy the ride.

the only question is whether he gets 2 years or 3?

actually, there's another one - does he continue to do both jobs?

Good question bro. Actually, there is only one task at hand that I'm concerned about. Not Isiah's extension. Not his sordid past or suspect trades. Not his less-than-perfect draft record. Not Anucha. Not the CBA. Not even his popcorn company.

The only question is can the Knicks keep the solid play going and beat Golden State?

You know what- the Knicks have done this all year- been gritty, won a tough game.

They have yet to put together a streak of good play- that is when they will be over the hump.

Lets see them follow up a gritty win over the lakers with another win over Golden State. Let see them blow out GS tonight.

But right now, they win one, loose one. Win one, loose one. They need a streak of 5 out of 6, 7 out of 10.

Toronto is 8 & 2 over their last 10.

If we could go 8 & 2, we'd be at 500 for the season.

Blow out GS franco?

I'll gladly accept a one-point double overtime win

I think IT will get a 2 year extension and will continue to do both jobs. The last thing we need is another power struggle. I will admit that I am concerned about IT's FA signing ability, but our next move is likely to be a trade, not a FA signing, since we need to consolidate our talent more than anything else. As far as trades, I think IT has done a decent job of getting the most talented player out of the trade. He won't be dealing for draft picks anymore, so we don't have to worry about Jalen Rose type deals. And, I think he has a better idea of what this team needs, so I would imagine that his next trade should be a solid one (at least i am hoping). But after all the naysaying, I think IT deserves the chance to make a few more moves to see if he can balance out this roster. The team looked great the past 3 games (even in the loss to Utah they looked good). If we win tonight, a 40-42 win season is not out of the question, and that should be enough to get us into the playoffs (and allow us to tell Chicago to stuff their hopes of getting another lottery pick).

The worst part about all this is that, if the Knicks DO win tonight, its the all-star break and what a bad time for a team that could be just hitting it's stride to have 7 days off.

I don't think the team which has to fight for each game and rely on coin flip at the end is even close to good shape.
But it is better that just be blowing out each second game.
So I guess this is the evident progress that IT need to keep this mediocrity running for a while...

Say WHAT?

arkrud - What coin flip at the end?

The NBA is chock full of one-point games. The linie between victory and loss is razor thin.

The Knicks are starting to win close games. You don't like that?

I think the team continues turning a corner. Yes, there is evident progress. Keep the team together, no more trades unless a shooter becomes available (I'd rather sit with a healthy Q).

Tonights game will show a lot. Game before the break and team playing very well together. We have to keep this up to get a playoff spot. Toronto is off to the races. Miami looks solid. We should replace Orlando, they are not playing so well.

Keep up the good play...

We do have a progress... from last year...
Are you satisfied? I am not.
Team just get back to what it was 3 years back... Great job Isiah.

And about the Lakers win -107-106 coin flip over one man band... Not impressive at all...

Who said anything about being satisfied ark?

THree years back? No, the Knicks three years ago had Clarence Weatherspoon, Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley. You really want them all back? C'mon, stop dwelling in the past and watch the basketball game.

Contrary to your opinion, Lamar Odom is not chopped liver.

Where's that thread about Isiah hiring people to post spin on message forums for him?

Watch one game at a time

Evaluate what you see compared to the start of the season and tell me you don't see any progress.

Odom had an off-game. He is not looking comfortable in LA lately.

And tell me how Big JJ, Jeffries, and Steve are mich better that Clarence Weatherspoon, Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley.
I am not tolking about Mo and J Rose as they are gone.
We do have young players to work with but this is nothing to do with wins/loses and yesterdays game.

And Bonn - don't be so hard on people. We all need to earn some money for leaving... LOL
