Eddy Curry hasn’t won anything in this league and suddenly he is demanding a trade if Isiah is fired. Marbury is happy because what the Knicks are doing is working?

It’s hard to point out the obvious here, but I will do it anyway because I am a “hater”

The Hornets have played half the season without Chris Paul, David West, and Peja, Bobby Jackson has been injured and they have as many wins 22 as the Knicks.

Milwaukee, lost 3 starters for months (and Simmons to a season ending) and they have 3 less wins than Knicks, and don’t have any depth

The Kings are having a disastrous season and have won 20 games
Portland who has one player and a bunch of rookies has won 20 games

The Magic are basically playing with Dwight Howard, journey men, and role players taken late in the draft or not drafted at all and have 25 wins

So I would like to know why everyone is so excited. George Willis today praised the Knicks, Chris Broussard said Isiah has earned his credit, Magic made a fool out of himself the other night with his All-Star remarks, the players are livid Eddy isn’t going to the game.

I am looking at a team that isn’t meeting expectations because they have a lot of talent and sometimes believe that’s going to get them wins. We can talk about the 10 minutes between our midlevel signings a game, or the changing rotations, Balkman suddenly having no role, but why is 22 wins something to be proud of.

Larry tanked last season, the players gave up, this team and city seemed to be evaluating the team the same why we evaluate Isiah the GM. And it’s laughable.

He’s better GM than Leyden, and now he’s better coach than Brown. If Dolan wants to run our team that way we have a long way to respectability

the basis for comparison is 23 wins and a toxic atmosphere last year.
the toxicity has been removed (brown) and we have 22 wins so far.
what's not to be happy about on their end?

Being under 500 in a terrible conference and getting a number of breaks with teams missing their starters and stars

the Hornets, Kings & Blazers are in a different Conference... what do we care what they do at this point?

& who here says they're happy w/the Knicks' record? the people who aren't falling off the deep end like you are are just happy w/some of the progress they've seen out of guys like Curry & D Lee SO FAR... that doesn't mean they're saying that's all the expect out of this team.

& no one here is a "hater" either... we're all fans of this team otherwise we wouldn't be here posting on this forum... probably the correct term for people who constantly bitch & moan about everything surrounding this team would be "nitpicker" though.

What you are missing is that the Knicks after a 5-11 start is now 17-17...All said a .500 team in December,Jan, and Feb...Thats progress...They have a ways to go but you have to start some where...We have always maintained they had the talent...Now the need to make a push for the playoffs...Progress...

i think playoffs at 34 wins would be progress just to get the kids in that environment and its frustrating that we have not played all that well and can still be there down the stretch.

I look at the teams in the east and how many of them are clearly better?

Progress by default is what I call this season, with a mentally healthy q, second year rookies, and Curry making it through training camp 15 pounds lighter is going to get you close to 7 wins.

I think the Knicks are going to improve their record and really pick it up in the last few months of the season. And if you ask me right now, I'd say they are going to make the playoffs. And I think they might even get one or two wins when they get there.

But all those things said, the criticisms that people have for the Knicks have merit. The fact that some people try to dismiss the very real flaws that this team carries is frustrating.

34wins won't get us in not ahead of Miami and Orlando and company best we can do is 9th place. I would then give Isiah a 1yr extension and give him until December next year. Curry has to come into camp in the best shape of his life and improve defensively, trades like frye has to be made to improve the team in other areas especially by bringing in a lights out shooter to play with Curry and make him even better

The team is competing for a playoff spot while rebuilding. That's a good sign.

We aren't really rebuilding......

Crawford, Francis, Q, Marbury, Jeffieres, James are all players that can't really be moved and aren't going to help you in the future.....Q when healthy is a great asset but with his bad back he could be done for the count at any second.....Marbury has played better but his knee is a concern.....And anyone that is in love with Crawford has to look at his non existent defense and poor decision making and horrible shooting percentage, the guy can get to the rim at will and is shooting blow 40%

And there is nothing impressive about a 22-28 record, competing for a playoff spot in a lousy division, now if they show us something late in the season then we can talk

The team is young. average age is under 26. one of the youngest teams in the L. Our center, one of the hardest pieces to acquire, is becoming a dominant offensive force. We have the perfect role player in Lee. The future looks 1000X brighter than it has at anytime during the past 7 (7!) years. That's something to be happy about.

No one is happy with the current record. But those numbers aren't necessarily as indicative of the progress being made. And yes NO has the same number of W's as us and I'd be just as happy to be a fan of that team.

People looking at this team as lacking quite a few things and the roster may even be mismatched..Whatever that means...One thing we can all agree on is that this team has the talent to make a run for the playoffs the rest of the way...That in itself is exciting...

Well, maybe you'll have something to smile about in the years to come then. Eddy's already won us a couple of games "by himself." The double and triple teaming of him isn't going to stop now that he wants to carry the team. Once he really figures out how to use that to make the game easy for everyone else, it'll keep getting better. I already see his passing out of double teams getting better. And if he can average 3 more rebounds a game from next year on, then he'll be the centerpiece.

I'd be surprised if this roster was below average in age. Maybe someone has a quick way of checking.

Perhaps but i don't think he really makes the necessary adjustment....

Chris Paul 6'0 185 (4.8rbs per game career)
Chubby 6'11 285 (5.3rbs per game career)
Stevie Francis (5.8rbs per game career)

Thats a ****ing disgrace! Your that big, and that wide, that bascially says you get rbs only when they hit you in the hands

Some people just don't mature until they're older. Especially high-school players. Eddy just was never coached well.

It's not really fair to quote his career average MS. This year, the year we all admit he's made significant strides, his rebounding average is 7. Not great for a center but not as bad as you make it seem. 3 more boards a game doesn't seem like that much to me if he's focused on making it happen.

I was going to post something similar to this.

Not to mention there are about 3-4 teams within 2-3 gms of overtaking the Knicks.
