RUMOR is the key word! Since many took FRANK "the TANK" Isola ponderings as scripture yesterday, thought y'all would enjoy this! However, this time its Sam Smith from the Chicago Tribune (who is as big of an ignoramous as Isola). Have a lookie...
I thought of it watching O'Neal embrace and then furiously defend Isiah Thomas during a recent game in Indianapolis. O'Neal credits Thomas for his chance to become an elite player when Thomas coached the Pacers, and with Thomas' position still insecure in New York, you figured Thomas would jump at a chance to get O'Neal to pair with Eddy Curry. For the Pacers, with a young post player in Ike Diogu from Golden State, it would be a chance to get out from the more than $20 million a season they'll owe O'Neal through 2009-10 and get some good young talent.

The Pacers probably could get players like Channing Frye and David Lee, a future first-round pick and maybe some spare parts like Malik Rose or a shot at Steve Francis and still save plenty of money in future salary. It hardly seems likely for now, though I have a league to fix and I cannot wait on Memphis and Minnesota.

for those that don't want a migraine:

cleveland trades huges, pavlovic
indy trades o'neal, harrison, greene
ny trades francis, frye, lee

in return

cleveland gets harrison, greene and francis
indy gets hughes, pavlovic, frye and lee
ny gets o'neal

Isola just did a good interview with Mike and Mad Dog...Speculated that Zeke might be the next coach of the Pistons...Isiah won't do anything to help Indiana and vise versa...

Not a bad deal Queenie, my only question to you is: I think Indy gets back fair talent, but does Indy want Larry Hughes with all the guards that they already have?

yup, if i'm cleveland i trade 3 #1's instead of giving up pavlovic. he's the glue of that team...you know...brings the chemistry.

They are short in the 2-guard category. They only really have Marquis Daniels. Larry Hughes gives them a 2-guard with PG skills who can play a little D.

Plus Hughes is not happy in Cleveland and they would be looking to move him. Aside from Francis needing to leave the tri-state area, they really need an explosive PG who can get to the rim at will that will take LeBron off the ball (penetrate and kick to him). Marbury or Francis fit the bill, but we all know that Marbles is here to stay FOR NOW.
Essentially, they get a year off the ridiculous contract they gave Hughes. Pavlovic and friends are FILLER. Plus he's expiring. Heck throw in Nate with Francis as well and give us Daniel gibson.

As for us, we get a LEGIT All-Star to play next to our ALMOST-ALL-STAR in Eddy Curry.

Why not trade francis for Hughes and try to get pavlovic. I like Hughes a lot. Dude can get you tons of steals. I like pavlovic too. I think that dude has tons of potential.

I think NY potentially has a new bitch, I mean trading partner. I would trade them Brad daughthery, I mean channing frye but they would have to give up Side show bob.

Seriously, you wouldn't trade Lee or O'neal? I love Lee but O'neal is franchise.
