According to Prosportsdaily.com, Isiah is looking to make a splash, either by landing Ray Allen or Pao Gasol for a package possibly including Frye and Crawford. If he can not get a elite player, a backup PG is an option.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/story/494776p-416844c.html

2 Things
GET RAY ALLEN AT MOSTLY ALL COSTS
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TRADE DAVID LEE OR EDDY CURRY

Other than that, anyone or anything is ok by my standards.

And if we get a back-up PG instead of going for Marcus in the draft that will finally confirm for me, THAT WE ARE JUST PLAYING IT BY EAR.

I'm really not interested in Ray Allen...... how old is he again? Another poor attitude with a huge contract that dont play D.

Pau Gasol would be interesting.. I have heard he is Soft, but he blocks some shots.. but I dont think he is worth the money he gets paid, and i dont see him being happy with a reduced role next to curry.

Give up D. Lee for Ray Allen if thats what it takes. we would be instant contenders with Ray Allen on our squad.

In terms of Ray Allen: So much for this alleged youth movement.

In terms of Pau Gasol: Will he be coming off the bench because we have to start 2 centers to accommodate Curry's nonexistent defense? Plus we have nothing that Jerry West would want. Unless West plans on replacing Isiah next year and wants to bring Gasol with him.

In terms of getting a backup PG: I thought we were so stacked with PG's that it made no sense to draft Marcus Williams.

What are we on, plan Y or Z? I lost track.

+ Ray allen - David Lee = More points, less rebounds, worse defense, the same open lane for opposing players...... not contenders

That article is the biggest load of crap I have ever read. Pretty much, Mr. Genious, Frank Isola of the Daily News offers his ideas without any solid basis. All speculation...it doesnt say, "get Ray or Pau" at all costs. And you will have to give Lee or Curry to get Pau. Relax- Isola had a boring off-day. Plus NO Expiring deals- which are used WITH DRAFT PICKS and young players...

Why dont you post the article. Its the same BS that ESPN Insider has. Here is the text of the article and judge for yourselves:

Isiah deals with trades
BY FRANK ISOLA
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER
Monday, February 5th, 2007

Isiah Thomas has never let the trading deadline pass without tweaking the roster, which hasn't always been a good thing. Does the name Steve Francis ring a bell?
With 17 shopping days left, the Knicks' president has remained relatively quiet, which could be taken several ways. There is a theory that Garden chairman James Dolan will not give Thomas permission to make trades in light of last year's Francis move and the free-agent signing of Jared Jeffries.

Another theory is that Thomas is somewhat gunshy because the Knicks easily will surpass last year's win total of 23 and he doesn't want to risk making a bad trade that would take Dolan's focus away from the overall record.

And that certainly isn't a good thing.

With the value of several Knicks, including Jamal Crawford and Channing Frye, having increased this season, Thomas could be in position to put together a package to acquire a player who would enhance the Knicks' chances of reaching the playoffs in the watered-down Eastern Conference.

There are several lottery-bound teams that may be looking to dump big contracts and rebuild. Seattle's Ray Allen, Memphis' Pau Gasol and Boston's Paul Pierce could be on the move. Allen or Pierce would give the Knicks a go-to-scorer late in games who would flourish when Eddy Curry is double-teamed.

It is unclear if the Knicks have the pieces to pursue an elite player. But it doesn't help that the Knicks wasted an asset by buying out Jalen Rose's expiring contract, which in some cases can be more valuable than actual players.

Thomas could opt for a smaller deal, perhaps a backup point guard. Stephon Marbury is resigned to playing with pain in his left knee for the remainder of the season. Francis could serve as a backup but hasn't played in five weeks because of knee soreness of his own. And there still is a possibility that the Knicks and Francis will negotiate a contract buyout.

The important thing is to make a trade, any trade. I think we've seen wonderful results from this strategy these past few years.

Haha, that's the first thing I thought! It's so funny to see some guys on this site married to some players and doing anything they can to make sure they are talked about in the right light.

Anyways... If Isiah can get either Ray Allen or Pau Gasol for a package around Crawford/Frye, I will forgive ALL previous transgressions by Isiah and be his #1 fan.

Man imagine Ray Allen on this team:
Marbury
Ray Allen
Q
Jerome
Curry
bench: lee, balkman, jeffries, Francis?

Imagine Pau Gasol on this team:
Marbury
Q
Jeffries
Gasol
Curry
bench: Lee, Balkman, Jerome, Francis?

I don't think we can really be in the Gasol running though, because reports say that they really just want to trim payrole and since we don't have any expirings, it makes a deal kind of hard. Ray Allen sounds feasible.

The funny thing is that if they wanted to make trades, having the expiring contracts of Rose and Mo T would help.

Too bad Isiah is a moron.

Successful Scenario
Due to Seattle and New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Seattle and New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Every trade made by fans is allocated a unique Trade ID which you can share with friends and fellow basketball fans to allow them to see your trade scenario. The Trade ID for this scenario is 3653267.

We get cap space with Fortson's expiring contract, a backup PG in Luke and Jesus scoring off double teams of Curry.

Seattle gets youth amd home town heroes !!!

I am sure Seattle will take back one deal with 4 yrs left on it as well as one with 5 yrs left on it for RAY ALLEN and give up Ridnour and expiring deal in Fortson- what planet are you from?

Oh yeah- I forgot- Malik with 3 yrs left on it too. BE REALISTIC and dont believe what Frank Isola says because he decided to pull something out of his ass this morning. The GM of the Sonics would have to be ISIAH THOMAS to take back what you are offering for a 31 yr old with bad knees...as Nalod says- STARPHUCKING.

Trading Lee for Ray Allen? Man that would be awful. That's the kind of move you make if (a) you're one move away from a championship AND (b) you're desperate for scoring. Neither describes us. I'd be for getting Ray Allen or Pau Gasol by giving up anyone else. (I wouldn't give up Curry for Ray b/c we could get a younger player, though.)
