Are you completely frustrated with the "haters" on this board? Just wondering, because I do notice some posters posting undue agression at any dissenting opinion of the Knicks. The only reason that I can see is that they're purely frustrated with any non-positive opinion. Please enlighten me.
No, they're right. I wish they'd speak up even more!
Please have them shut up. Are they even fans?
I don't care either way. I like to hear both sides of the argument.

I like to hear both sides, I've said it once before that the board is much more interesting after losses and you can even feel the glimmer of hope in the so called "haters" posts.

It's the harpers that are starting to get annoying...ok ok, lee should start, move on.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

wow! I can't believe you had the time on your hands to make a post like that. Honestly, every forum requires people on both extremes and people in the middle. Who do you think will say "please shut up". Most of the guys have just learned to ignore one or two of the posters that annoy them. I think I live somewhere between the optimists and the middle.

Well, so far 50% of the voters want us to just shut up, so clearly I wasn't off when I posted this. I'm not going to name names, but that's my general impression, reading some of the responses to certain known "haters" lately. We all like to be right, but why have a discussion if people can't talk calmly and logically without it breaking down into an insult fest or a series of "you said this" when that poster never said such a thing. I find that behavior frustrating/abusive.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Obviously if there wasnt any "haters" on the board than there would be nothing to talk about. There are a couple people on here that are pretty obnoxious tho...i think im pretty middle ground, but there are some people on here that im convinced hate the knicks, they make excuses for why they win, nitpick everything, and are just in general crybabies. But whatever i guess they do serve a role. I dont think that not being all excited about a .400 team makes you a hater or whatever, but theres a couple people on here who bitch and moan so much I do just wish they would shut the **** up.

I think there should be an option to send a knicks Vermont Teddy Bear to the "Haters" to cheer them and stop them from beating there Wifes/Children/Boyfriends/Teams up.

dude, I wasn't being literal. Of course some of the people want the pessimists gone. We don't live in a perfect world so not everyone is levelheaded.

I think there are bad posters on both ends of the spectrum. I think there are people that make excuses for every win and for every loss. I do think some of the "lovers" and "haters" go way over board and absolutely destroy posts. There are guys o the board that literally go post ot post looking for reasons to insult players. And there are guys on this board that literally go post to post looking for any negative opinion(actually opinions that don't agree with there's, not necessarily unfair posts) so that they can attack it.

What's annoying for me is that there are some posters that never actually challenge something I actually wrote. They never say why a post I'm making is fair or unfair. Never once have they confronted me on a post that I actually made at the actual time that I make it. But they consistently challenge me on posts that I supposedly made a couple weeks after I supposedly made it. Misquoting me and misstating my opinions on a regular basis. Thankfully there are only 2 or 3 posters that do that, so it doesn't ruin the total experience, but this is annoying whether it's a "hater" or "lover".

Haters keep it real. Bip said, there are good haters and bad ones.

Just like the Homers. Some are better than others.

as long as we are losing there will be more negative things than positive things to say. When we are winning there will be more positive things to say than negative. Number 2: fans always want to find ways to fix their teams. Guys sitting around watching a .400 team and talking about how great the team is, really aren't any better fans than guys that are trying to figure out how we can get better.

I guess I just don't understand why some are so sensitive to a negative opinion that they won't disccuss what they actually disagree with. They just attack the negativity, only to restat the exact same thing later on in a more "positive light". Get over it. If you disagree with an opinion, don't attack, say what you think is unfair and discuss. Some have such a hard time with that.

Who sits around thinking that a .400 team is great? Mediocre yes, but not great. You might be exaggerating unless you want to name a particular poster who said we're great. And who is to say that the ones who think this .400 team is mediocre and can get better aren't also hoping and trying to figure out ways that we can get better? This is not a finished product out there, I think everyone can agree on that. Some are willing to totally blow up the front office, some are willing to blow up the entire team, others are tired of getting blown up and want to stay the course.

My opinion today is fire isiah or not, i dont really want the new GM to trade away guys just to make his stamp on the team. We needed a shake-up 4 years ago. Now we have had the soil turned-over completely and we're barely starting to grow again. I think we have the ingredients in the soil and just need some careful weeding done. Isiah or not, I want to see guys like David Lee and Channing Frye and Eddy Curry grow up together. I don't care who starts, those three cats are fun to root for and all have distinct NBA talent. Would I trade two of em for Garnett and a short window at a title rather than years of development? Hmmmmm... no, not really. Keep the kids. Grow the Knicks.

I dunno. The "Lovers" jump on me when I write a generally positive post with one or two minor critical elements. The "Haters" brand me an Isiah lover if on the rare occasion, I compliment a a move we make. The reality of the situation is I hate Isiah Thomas but I'm always optimisitc of the Knicks.

It's funny though, we really have polar opposites on this forum. My theory is its all the same guy setting up characters to argue with himself. Sounds ridiculous, but people do get a kick of of seeing their name in lights.

Kam this is my point. You think Lee/Frye/Curry can grow together and be contenders. This is a fair opinion and only time will tell. Some don't think that they can grow together and be contenders. Some Think they can grow together and be contenders if built around with a proper supporting cast. Some think Isiah can do this. Some think Isiah can't. Some think the roster needs a major overhaul. Some think you keep it mostly intact and they win a title.

Now my confusion is this. All the above are opinions. We won't know which is right. Only time will tell. My question is, why does one opinion make you a "hater" and one makes you a "true fan"? That's just where my confusion comes in. In an earlier post I said that ultimately to be a contender we might have to get rid of one of the three Curry/Frye/Lee. I don't hate any of the three and actually would list Frye and Lee as my two favorites on the team. Yet because I even discussed the possibility of trading one of the two I was lumped as a hater that wants to blow up the entire team. That's what I find annoying.

I have no problem with someone disagreeing and stating why. But state why. The whole You are a "hater" "lover" nonsense is tired and boring.

Yes, but don't parents see their own kids in a more critical light than the kids of others? That grass isn't always greener, going back to my plant analogy. I like our frontcourt in general more than i like the other positions. Were tops in rebounds. We just lack shotblocking at the moment unless JJ1 emerges as a force outta nowhere.
