"I think ultimately at the end of the day it comes down to the NBA," Stephon Marbury said. "I think the NBA picks the teams."

LOL!

So they must have rigged it the few times you've been there huh? Also if there is any conspiracy that the league has it in for the Knicks thanks for helping that situation out you idiot.

Its unfortunate that with a payroll of 139mil you can't even get one Current allstar while on the payroll!

Why aren't the Bulls crying? They have one of the best records in the East and they have nobody going. Marbury's also dumb in saying they sent players from losing teams to the event. Who Vince Carter and Jason Kidd? Well they are 0-1 against them, they are 3gms behind them in the division and quite honestly those 2 players are having better seasons than Curry. Maybe not one of their better seasons, but they are better than Curry.

The record sucks, we play no defense. Stop whining and do what's most important and when you start winning games, we'll start talking about rewards.

I don't have a problem with what Marbury said. He is sticking up for his teammate. What I do see have a problem with is, "I'm disappointed but what can I do?" Curry said following yesterday's practice at a sports complex co-owned by former Reds shortstop Barry Larkin. "It's out of my control. . . . I'm happy for the guys that made it. Next year, we'll see what happens."

What you can do is go out and prove everyone wrong by getting rebounds and being an intimadator. No need to wait till next season there are plenty of games left this year.

Press gets giddy when they ask SynapseBury what he thinks.

They will get a good quote.

I can understand him sticking up for his center, its what he should do, but as usual he spews the empty meaning.

You guys are retarded or something. You guys make it sound like Marbury called a press conference and said the All Star game was rigged. They went to the players and asked them what they thought! What do you want him to say, that Eddy doesn't deserve to be there? Seriously, some of you guys are impossible. Whats next, a thread complaining about the shirt Marbury wore.

There are no problems with his shirt but there are a lot of problems with the sh...t coming out of his mouth...

How is it empty? They asked him to comment on Curry not being there and he said he thinks its bs. Empty meaning? You don't like the extreme he is going to? Stop with the nitpicking Nalod. If thats the worst thing he says this season, I'm happy with it. This thread is epitome of snit vomit!

Marbury spoke words! Let us micro-anylyze them to a ridiculous extent all in the purpose of ridiculing him...because we don't like him, no other reason!

Marbury accused the NBA of rigging the all star selections! Let us completely ignore it and instead ridicule the people who actually understand that what he said was completely out of line...because we have no social skills and people don't like us, no other reason!

Silver, don't get worked up over NOTHING/NOBODY. He is just desperately trying to get me to pay some attention to him. He's been trying to do so for months, but he isn't worth my time. Since Bilefan is always trying so hard to get my attention it's obvious that I am constantly on his mind. Therefore I own him. Maybe one day he will learn a new trick besides just repeating what I write like a common parrot. How uncreative and boring.

It's funny that vilefan would write I have no social skills and say that people don't like me when he was recently boasting about "all the people that hate him." What a sad way to define one's self! This is a dude who since I coined UK Mafia back in November has been in at least 20 ugly exchanges that I know of, and has tried to start countless more. While I have been in zero such exchanges. -->Loser!<--

Now he will get all excited and post his usual garbage just hoping he will get some human contact from me. No such luck! Poor lil' fella will have to be lonely...

Since I own him maybe I should trade him for something of actual use or value, like a pog or perhaps some rubber bands. Are you interested? All offers will be considered!

^I had no idea. I'm talking Knicks basketball (or Knicks quotes to the media) and isles has to come out with cheap shots like telling people they have no social skills. I thought it was meant for me which is annoying! Whats more annoying is that his post changed the entire direction of the thread.

As usual Marbury says something dumb. It's about how he said. Also, just like Isiah, he failed to mention anything about defense, any flaws. A player who gets it would say that he's disappointed but he'll improve his game so he makes it next year. These guys don't get it.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The All Star game is a popularity contest. Being a better player has nothing to do with it. Check out Steve Nash not starting and tell me the all star game has anything to do with ability.

BTW: A ton of players have said the NBA is rigged. Players, coaches, team owners and even media guys have brought up the possibility. Marbury is suggesting something that has already been visited. Like I said before, if thats the worst comment he gets in this season, we are getting off easy.

I don't disagree that it's a popularity contest... for the starters. Generally I think the reserves are picked pretty well, so rigged is a strong statement. I don't feel that Eddy Curry deserved to make it. Furthermore, a player who 'gets it' takes the high road and talks about improving so the voters have no choice but to elect that player next year. Why does Marbury never take the high road?

Thats how teammates usually react when asked about their buddies. I distinctly remember Allan Houston backing up Sprewell for an allstar spot. He said Spree deserves to be their and it will be sad if he cannot make it etc. I don't know how to search for quotes from that all star game but if you can, you will see what I am saying. No one got on Allan Houston. Not even me even though I hated his game. There was a reason for that. He is supposed to stick up for his team mates.

As far as him saying the NBA is rigged, a ton of people have said it. Mark Cuban said he counted up to 12,000. Marbury is not the first and wont be the last. Is everyone that suggests the NBA is rigged a stupid person? If so, you will be calling Pat Riely and Mark Cuban stupid as well. Bottom line, people have to stop nit picking about every little thing Marbury says.

If this was the only time Marbury said something that maybe he should've kept to himself, I'd probably agree with you. However, just this season you can probably find over 100 instances where Marbury opened his trap and all that came out was hot air. The dude needs to learn when to take the high road. You can't miss the high road on every opportunity and then expect to keep your credibility. That's all I'm saying.

Marbury has some point, but again, Curry didn't deserve to make it, solely because of his terrible defense, so I'm not sure what the real issue is. I truly see Marbs as spewing hot air right here.

You basically repeated yourself. Find me the 100 instances. You cant, because you are exaggerating. Same thing you are getting mad at Marbury for. I can understand you not liking his suggestions about the NBA being rigged but you back that up by exaggerating and saying something equally ridiculous.

And this is basically my point. Just because he has a history doesn't mean you should nit pick at everything, especially when he is doing that everyone does. Its wrong for sticking up for your team mate? What do you expect him to say? Seriously? What do you expect him to say? "No comment", "He doesn't belong there" or something else?

You agree that its a popularity contest but the same time you talk about deserving to be there? Come on!
so I'm not sure what the real issue is.
I'm not sure either! People make a big deal out of everything Marbury says. Absolutely everything! The media asked him to comment on it and he did. Knowing him, I think he did pretty well.
