"He's got a chance to be Sixth Man of the Year," Thomas said. "That's the position he's in. He's having excellent success in that role. It's very hard to find a niche and have success in this league, and when you find it, you don't necessarily want to tinker with it too much. He seems to be doing OK with where he's at. Accolades and awards are coming in. Can you give me credit?"

Even I refused to suggest that Isiah was holding Lee out of the starting lineup because he was more interested in getting Lee "accolades" than doing what was best for the team. Now, can there be any doubt that that is exactly what Isiah is doing?

Who cares if the Knicks perpetually fall behind early in games with Lee sitting on the bench, as long as Lee gets accolades for coming off the bench and Isiah gets credit for it. Isiah is such a POS.

I had earlier defended keeping Lee on the second unit, with the assumption that Isiah was trying to Frye on track.

Don't know if Isiah was trying to get Frye on track or not- this statement definitely doesn't support that.

But, at this stage, even I can say- enough- put Frye on the bench- start Lee. Screw sixth man of the year awards.

Frye really looks lost out there.

Its like he does not know where to be.

Nate should join the globetrotters, he can be a star and yap it up!

Seriously, the kid is a side show on the wrong stage!

Frye has been terrible all season and it has been quite obvious what isiah has doing all year long, feeding curry all night long and trying to show the owner an allstar appearance or a sixth man of the year......

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Funny how Dolans little "evident progress" thing has totally backfired on the team and now the whole season is about Isiah.

Imagine how many of those close losses might have been wins if Lee played 36 and Frye 20. It's not nitpicking when winning close games can make a huge difference in your record.

Wow this is pathetic. Instead of putting the team in a better position to win games, Isiah feels the need that a player win a award to make himself look better so he can keep his job. This is absolutely PATHETIC. If you can't see what Isiah is doing to this team and franchise then you're blind.

Wow......that's just wow......first that thread about the Pistons and now this. At least Isiah is not sacrificing the future well-being of the team.

Based on their minutes per game, its obvious that its not just Frye getting Lee's minutes. Who cares who starts, its about how many minutes they play. Last season he averaged 16.9 mpg, this year he is up over 30. Its only his second year, you have to be careful with such a dramatic increase, you can't just immediately max him out.

i still don't get that since winning games would win Isiah more accolades than getting some meaningless 6th man of the Year award... it just boggles my mind why he wouldn't start the guy.

Why not? Larry Brown got killed on this board for not immediately maxing out the rookies. Did you defend him?

Actually no i didn't. i don't jump on and off the bandwagon like most here. But I do believe in progression and bringing players along rather than overworking them and burning them out.

Th Knicks had a problem at the beginning of the season where they fell behind very early in games...Looking at the last 20 games, there are only two games where the Knicks were out of it in the first quarter...Phoenix and Maimi...In the Miami game, If I remember correctly, Lee was inserted when the score was 13-3, betwen 3 and 4 mins into the action...The lead ballooned to 29-3..So the argument that Lee should start because the Knicks fall behind early is not really an valid argument...That said, Lee should start because he is playing better basketball than Frye right now...Lee is playing with more confidence than Frye and he should get more minutes as a result...I wonder if LB's press conferences got dissected on a daily basis in this forum last year...

Well played. A one line insult on an internet message forum. How witty for you. I would've thought you'd save that caliber of snide remark for your customers and colleagues at Mavis.

Fair assesment of the source?
