Why Can't Marbury Get No Love For Playing Through An Injury?

We stubbornly recognize how valuable Marbury is to the Knicks, but rather than mention his stellar play of late... or give any props for his good works, many would rather dwell on his maligned quotes, his appearance or his vagabond career.

When hometown players disappoint us we are eager to point out and celebrate their flaws. Marbury, to be certain, has his flaws, but he never harmed anyone... never been arrested... never slapped a woman around... not ever been busted with drugs, etc....

What, while he toughs it out, and plays in pain, he can't get no love from us today?

Why didn't he do it last year?

the legit gripe: "what have you done for me lately" has morphed into the backhand compliment "why couldn't you do this before"

progress from all sides!
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Why do you care if Marbury gets love for playing through an injury? Are you his agent now? We're not paying him his salary so you should be making your sales pitch to Jim Dolan.

Besides the point, plenty of people who bash Marbury on this forum have said he's done a great job this year with the way he has played.

nyk4ever - excellent point. We should not acknowledge ANY Knicks player for his extra effort to play through an injury.

Nice call

After the first 20 games he has slowly, grudgingly, garnered some acknowledgment, not that much praise though. Before that, we were benching him for: [Insert third string PG here].

Thats not the point. As usual, you're pleading for people to recognize that Marbury is playing hurt. We all know he is. You don't need to plead with us like you're his agent and his next deal is riding on it. We know he's been playing hurt and plenty of people have given him props for his excellent play the last month.

Give it up misterearl. Every player in the NBA plays through pain at one point or another. Marbury isn't special for doing what everyone else does. Get over it.

As usual?

I've never made the point that Marbury is playing with an injury prior to today.

Did you have a bad day?

I agree with Misterearl here. I don't think any player plays through injuries more than Steph does.

i don't know what board you've been reading, but there have been plenty of Marbury props being thrown his way for his improved play of late.

If you scroll back there are about 15 posts in the last month devoted strictly to Marbs' stellar play. MisterEarl how could you miss this. He's gotten nothing but props lately.

Hey bip, don't you think giving Marbury a few extra props beats trying to trade away my man David Lee for (cough) that ladies man Andre Kirilenko?

sheesh

I dont like him as a person but I have no gripes about him playing threw pain. He deserves some props for that as long as it doesnt end up to the detriment of the team. I've played with injury and hurt my team.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg
