Here's my pitch on why the Knicks need and have a chance at getting Pau Gasol. First off he is in the West and Jerry West will most likely ship him to the East. Secondly the East is up for grabs and the Knicks could careless if they add more salary. Furthermore, a combo off Curry and Gasol, two efficient low post scorers will launch the Knicks into to the "Chip Talk". Gasol makes about 12.3 mill this season with alot more left on his contract. So if I'm Isiah I offer...

Frye
Crawford
Jeffries
Francis
2008 1st Round pick (Lottery protected)

(for)

Gasol
E. Jones
We get and allstar while they continue to rebuild. We both go away happy with this one

I don't see why they would want Crawford, Jeffries or Francis for any of their players

this is where not having Mo T hurts- because I bet a deal of Mo T, Frye & Nate might get that deal done.

I doubt Pau gets moved but if he does its going to take a huge amount.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I think an offer of Frye, Crawford, Rose, a 1st round pick, and $3 mill cash would be a solid offer. It would be far from a lock but I think the Grizzlies would at least consider it. They get to keep Eddie Jones' expiring contract, so they should not be too far over the salary cap next year anyway. They get a good young PF/C that can score in Frye, and a young combo guard in Crawford, plus they get a draft pick. I would even throw in another LOTTERY PROTECTED first round pick if that got the deal done. With Gasol and Curry, we would have the best frontcourt in the league. You give Nate away to a team with capspace for a 1st round pick, and we can still add players through the draft and use of the MLE.

Precisely. All of those 'unecessary' moves that we make always bite us a year or two later. I keep wishing one of our GM's would just wait it out a little, keep our options open with the money and not make such harsh moves. I never understood that. It's like they keep trying to instantly satisfy the fans impatience. Well' we all get burned again. I would love to have the opportunity to get Pau Gasol in New York. He would be the perfect compliment to Curry and with Lee starting and Q hitting the outside? We would have had an unstoppable line-up! Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for the contract to at least get into they're last year and see what's on the table. But I still woulnd't make any harsh moves, not unless it was a big superstar player. Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't' make!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Gasol is a young 7 foot 50% shooter with a post game. They are very rare. Our 2007 #1 pick will be around #20. Frye is a good prospect but they already have Warrick and Gay so its justa different view. Jcraws value is good but not very high. I just dont think that gets it done. Chicago would be very interested and the bidding would have to start with 2 of Deng, Gordan, or Nocioni. That plus atleast 1 draft pick

I don't think Gausol is what we need. We all state we need a banger in your face type of player next to Curry, Pau to me is a more polished Fye, he is what Frye will look like if he ever develops a post game. He is too soft, and not what we need. We need more role players and an all-star guard to complement eddy. ( I wish Arenas was a knick)

I can't stand chicago, but they are really good at getting good deals done. They are 'patient' and now they are knocking on the door again. Oh yeah' we still owe them our draft pick! Shit! They'll probably use that to try and get Gasol.

Well' whatever happens, it's going to be big by next season. That might even mean IT being fired, but we'll see.

Memphis is in rebuild mode- Frye replaces some of Gasol- and lets face it- they aren't winning with him right now- and, Frye is making about $9MM less than Gasol- buys them time.

Nate could be a fan draw for them- I bet more people might go to watch him than Pau.

Personally- I'm not convince that having Curry & Pau up front would necessarily work- Pau has a rap as being soft- we know curry is soft- don't know that a team can win with 2 softies up front at what are supposed to be positions of physical intimidation.

Pau is not soft in my eyes. He has a rep for being soft because he is forced to play out of position often. He is not a Center. He cant expect to bang with guys like Curry. They often expect that because he is a 7 footer. He should be an all star playing at PF not Center.

The Grizzles do not need Jamal or Jeffries. They have a future point and they have Miller, Gay and Warrick at the sf and sg.

Since Paul is the one calling the shots I doubt he has in mind coming to this team.

Gasol is not an intimidator but i would not describe him as soft. He knows how to play ball at a high level and is a good passer and a solid rebounder. I think he and Curry would work well together.

I think Pau would love to come to a team with a real center actually. Either that or go play with some of his buddies from his own country. But I agree with you the trades being offered on this board wont get him. He is a young 7 footer in his prime. Think what was traded for Iverson. That was chump change. Think about 3 #1's for Kmart. Pau will take a lot to bring him here. Frye plus Lee plus Jeff or Balk plus a #1 in all likelihood

I can't see why the Bulls would give up 2 of Deng, Nocini and Gordon. Gasol is a nice player but he's not worth that package.
