Isiah Thomas, on an eight-player trade between Indiana and Golden State that featured Al Harrington, an Isiah favorite, said: "Clearly both teams thought they needed a change."
Asked if the trade could prompt more, with the East wide open, Thomas said, "I think there will be a lot of temptation when everyone is so close, bunched together, the natural competitive instinct is to do (something)." Thomas is in a tough spot because he can't add significant payroll and won't trade his young guys, unless it's for a superstar. Kevin Garnett qualifies. An unsubstantiated internet rumor about Garnett and the Knicks highlights a package of Channing Frye, Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford and a 2008 first-round pick. However, a league official said the Knicks have been quiet on the trade front recently. . . . Jared Jeffries was booed in his Washington return each time he touched the ball. But he found his jumper, making three perimeter shots, finishing 3 of 5 for 6 points. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/44282/20070118/any_validity_to_kg_to_knicks_rumor/ |

Perhaps make the draft pick unprotected completely...it worked out well for Chicago!

Only problem is, those players add up to about half of KG's 21 million.
