I can just feel that pessimistic fans aren't convinced yet on the knicks when they win .

Is it that older fans don't want to be let down anymore ?

The knicks have picked up wins at the buzzer a few times, does it build confidence in the players or just optimistic fans ???

I'm convinced this team can win. I don't see a collapse, they just need to believe
they can win. Players have to know their places:
Marbs....scorer/defense/assists/steals
Curry....scorer/rebounds/try to block a freakin shot!!
Jeffries...defense/rebounds/steals
QRich...scorer/defense/rebounds/assists/steals
Frye....scorer/rebounds/defense
Craw....scorer/steals/assists
Balk....defense/rebounds/steals
Lee....rebounds/defense/steals/assists
Nate...scorer/defense/create havoc (for the other team!!)
Cato...rebounds/block shots (plays when needed)
Collins...defense/assist (plays when needed)
Malik.....defense/rebounds/intimidation factor (plays when needed)
J. James....No place for you!!

their next six games are tough. I expect some tough losses and a lot people convinced that they are collapsing, but I think they'll stay in the playoff race til the end of the season and may make it.

They'll be 5-6 games out coming into April and all we'll hear are how they're still in it and how they're playing meaningful games at the end of the year.

That's just going to be more crap that Knicks fans are going to be asked to swallow. And some people here are going to happily swallow theirs and ask for more.

I think Islesfan and crzy set up the right range. Either they're mediocre and miss the playoffs, or they get about a 7, 8 seed. I just don't see them collapsing like last year. However, it's not really a good thing if we make the playoffs with a below .500 record and lose in the first round in 4 or 5 games. I just see the makeup of this team as mediocre. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not expecting the playoffs this year just expecting that the team gets better. This team will take another season or two before they jell. Getting in the playoff with a below 500 record and getting sent home won't impress me. Next year however, I will expect more wins and consistancy.

^Good post, except I will expect more of the same if we have the same team this year.

Hmmm...Actually, I would not mind making the playoffs even with a sub-.500 record. I think we have a 50-50 shot at the playoffs this year, but I'm pretty confident we will become a perennial postseason team starting next season. So I think making the playoffs this year would give the young guys some valuable playoff experience, which is vital in the NBA.

I agree. The young core of Curry, Lee, Frye and Crawford will really benefit from some playoff experience.

Isn't the real reason why you guys want the knicks to make the playoffs is so Isiah doesn't look as bad when chicago gets our #1 pick ?

when you look at how bad the East is and how good some people make this roster out to be missing the playoffs is inexusable. This should at the very least be a .500 team

Isn't that the truth. That's Isiah's main goal too. I don't put much into sliding into the playoffs with a subpar record, and then getting swept in the first round. It's experience, but very minimal experience. I think making Isiah look good is a bigger factor for most.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't really care what Isiah looks like but I definitely do not want to give Chicago a 1,2,3 draft pick. Is that a bad thing?

isn't minimal experience better than no experience?

Did much better than not making the playoffs at all. I remember thinking Frank Williams and Sweetny will benefit from this. Did you think it was pointless?

Sweets still lives at burgerking, yea Frank is from the westside of chicago,he's ballin well in the NBDL I saw him play the other night.

Both didn't benefit. One is underacheoving in the association and the other hasn't made it back to the league yet.

I didn't say they would drastically improve, I said the experience would help them. Sweets was a decent player and that playoff definitely helped him.

hindsight is always 20/20 but I remember 90% of the board at that time saying this would be valuable experience for the players. I can't believe you are saying playoff experience is pointless. Especially for Lee, Frye and Curry who are most probably the core of the Knick future. Any experience is better than no experience playa and you know it.

Silver haven't you noticed some games played in the garden against "BAD TEAMS" are like playoff games.

Playing at MSG is like the playoffs and it comes to fruition when both team play to their ability.

The pressure in the garden is so thick , guys have to cut their way out to make it to the locker room.

So basically you are saying playoff experience is good for the team right?

my gut reaction is to think playoffs would be good for the team, but given how bad the Atlantic is this season it should have no bearing on how IT's performance is judged. is that fair?
