I'm listening to the Spurs radio after their game and this call comes in:
Caller: I dont want to push the panic button (he is speaking about the Spurs) but I'm starting to reach. I think its time the Spurs make a trade for Arenas or Iverson.

Radio guy: Where do people come up with this stuff? Gilbert Arenas is one of the MVPs of the league. We dont have anyone to trade for him outside of Timmy. Come on man why would Washington give up on one of the leagues best players? Also Denver just traded 2 #1 picks and a solid PG for Iverson. He isnt going anywhere and he doesnt replace Tony or Manu anyway.

They go to a break, then come back.

Caller: OK you say we cant get Arenas or Iverson. Well then we should take some of our backups or a draft pick for a guy like Eddy Curry or David Lee. Pop can get them cheap.

Radio guy: Will you stop this? Do you watch these guys play? I do on NBA league pass because I like to follow Malik. Why would the Knicks give up either of these guys this year?

Caller: Well we drafted Lee and traded him and nobody knows much about Curry but he is playing well this year.

Radio Guy. Yes both of them are playing very well. Thats why NY would never trade them. We did not draft Lee by the way and he is one of the best rebounders in the NBA. There is no way one of our backups will bring him nevermind all our backups. And Curry? Are you kidding me? If you watch this kid and I say kid because he is 23 years old (actually 24)he is one of the most unstoppable Centers in basketball. He is facing constant double teams. You know why? Because if anyone plays him one on one he will go for 50 on them. Off hand Timmy, Yao and Elton Brand are the only guys I see at his level in the post. There just is no possible way.

Caller: But the Knicks got him for only a #1 pick

Radio guy: Enough. It wasnt just a #1 pick and we have no chance at getting Curry or Lee so stop dreaming!

Oh man I forgot about Butler. LOL

By the way I said spurs radio guys. Its the Spurs radio channel (760) on the radio but they were talking football as well so it may not be exactly their guys. I dont know who it was doing the show. I just was going nuts in my car listening to this. I loved it!

Curry's playing great, it's fantastic to see.

I don't get how some people could question why some posters(myself included) were skeptical of Eddy and the amount that Isiah gave up to get him. The guy was a bust in Chicago and we got him off of a heart problem. How can anyone not question him?

He's playing great now and is quite a force offensively, it's good to see this team getting big dividends offensively from Eddy.

Actually I meant to put a disclaimer up that my memory is horrible unlike Dj's so I probably got several words wrong but that was what I remembered.

Yeah, the Spurs totally ripped us off with Butler, they must think they'll be able to get Curry even cheaper. I mean, Butler is the 5th best center in the NBA and Curry is only like the 20th according to Hollinger. Man, that's how you know Hollinger is a Knicks fan, only a Knicks fan could be so down on Curry.

We don't have to be blind to what we have here - Lee, Curry and Frye and QRich and Balkman and Crawford are all young, quality players. And Jefferies and Marbury aren't too bad either.

Oh man I left that part out. The caller said the only reason the Bulls traded Curry was he had a heart problem and it was cured.
Its funny listening to other teams fans. :)

By the way I couldnt remember everything but the radio guy was huge on Lee as well. He really was impressed with Lee.

That's good stuff, SugarRay. I live in L.A. and also watch on the NBA Package and most away anouncers give Lee and Curry props. But they always rave about Lee. Also, it's nice to have a local radio guy that knows his stuff like that. I love the "Enough!"

It was funny because he was really coming down hard on his own caller. The only down side is the Spurs fan thought they could get our guys so cheap but it sounded like he just follows them via stats

Curry has been playing solid. This trade is looking better and better every day. I can't say the same for all the othe trades, but the Curry trade is starting to look good.
