Would you guys do the Curry trade again or keep our rights to Ty Thomas, Mike sweets and Tim thomas. I mean sweets is still eating waaay too many sweets and Ty Thomas is going to be one fine ball player but will they equal Curry in the end. I mean it's not like they'll be drafting Oden. So knowing all of that would you guys decline the trade or do it again in a heartbeat(no pun intended)?

Sorry but there was more to the trade than that. Try again.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

^^Why don't you enlighten me then? Tyrus Thomas, Mike Sweets, Tim Thomas and what was supposed to be Oden. Who did I miss?

Really depends on if the second 1st rounder is a top-5 pick. I see a few players that might have some potential as franchise players in this upcoming draft. But if we somehow make the playoffs and only owe Chicago a nonlottery pick, then I would do the Curry trade in a heartbeat. The guy has turned into a beast on the offensive end and his defense is improving.

Unless we win the lottery & a chance at Oden, I think Isiah had to make that trade.

right now there are eight teams worse than the knicks; Boston Atlanta, Philli, Charlotte,Portland, N.O., Sonics, and the Grizzlies...there are six teams within a couple games from us, Nets, Bucks, Heat, Clippers, Warriors, and Kings. If things go the way theyve been going I dont thin that we are getting a top ten pick. Curry trade is solid.

Of course, there's always the other argument that had Isiah NOT made the Curry trade, then we realistically would be 1 of the worst teams in the NBA & would then have a legitimate shot at landing the top pick in this year's draft.

It's all speculative obviously. So far Curry's been better than expected this season, so I have hope that this trade will turn out to be a great one for this franchise.

There are a bunch of really good players that may be in the draft this year. Oden is not the only one we may be missing out on

Will those guys be better than Curry? Curry is improving. His has been very consistent on offense and I see his rebounding improving already. That leads me to believe his defense can improve too. If no Oden, Curry trade is a good trade.

There will be a minimum of 5 players drafted ahead of where the Knicks pick that you would trade for Curry straight up.

just like ty thomas. keep dreaming...there is only one player in the upcoming draft that currently looks to have more upside than curry. other than that, curry is the best, it's looking like we stole curry so far.

oh, and we got balkman as well as we moved Davis in the trade to toronto. But that's stretching.

Just looking at the draft picks, we win.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

other than Oden, are there any that teams would covet more than Curry? i don't know if i can say for sure there is one... there are players w/high potential just like there are in every draft class, but young C's w/Curry's size & athletic ability & his pretty polished low post game don't come along that often... you're talking about inserting an instant offensive low post presence that consistently draws double teams that's only 24 years of age... a player giving you 18 & 8 at the NBA level right now & still improving... is Durant going to be the next T-Mac like it says on his scouting report? is Brandon Wright the next KG? i hear the same thing about players in every draft class... yeah, we may miss out on the next T-Mac or the next KG... but how many times do players like that really come along? we run that risk every year even when we do have a draft pick... it's all a crap shoot... at least w/Curry you know you're getting a player that can dominate in the paint against NBA level competition.

So the trade was a floundering Sweetney and some picks with potential for a proven Curry. Cancel out TT and Davis. Unless we are talking Oden, who looks as close to a sure thing as a pick can be, then I'd rather have Curry.

Seriously, do you guys think that Curry is better than everyone that would have been available in last years draft (aside from Bargnani) and what would have been available to us in the 07 draft had we not traded for Curry?

I think Greg Oden stays in college for 3 to 4yrs. He is like Tim Duncan. He is to humble. He will want to stay in school and keep trying to improve his game there.

Back to the topic. Its still to early to say if the trade was a success or not. Ty Thomas seems like nothing now. But who knows he could end up being an aboslute beast in a few yrs. Then again Curry could end up being a franchise calibre center in a few yrs. There are still to many unknowns.

why does it have to be Tyrus Thomas? Personally I would have taken Rudy Gay. If I could take back 2 trades it would be the Curry trade and the Francis trade (so many bad ones to choose from its was hard)

We would be:
guards: Marbury, Crawford, Nate, Mardy
wings: Rudy Gay, Ariza, Balkman
bigs: Frye, Lee, Sweetney, JJSkinny

hopefully Curry's inflated #s continue and it either translates into winning basketball or a great trade for us

You guys (isles, solace, fishy, anyone else i left out sorry) are so F'in negative. Not because all you do is rip curry but you refuse to look at him without preconcieved ideas. Inflated #'s -give me a break. Look how much he has improved in 20 or so games. Look at him staying after practice to work on his free throws. Hear him in interviews talk about improving his defense and rebounding. Hear him talk about the sacremento game and how disappointed that he felt he let the team down. You think if he was in the draft this year the way he is playing now he would be the 6th or lower pick. Give me a break. You guys are ripping him like hes playing 20 mins a game, in foul trouble, scoring 10pts and 2rebs. That was last year. Hes not a superstar but he is playing pretty good and improving. Inflated #'s ??- that was at he end of last nites game when we stopped playing, let the clock run out and some guy shot and hit a 3 pointer. Curry is EARNING everything he gets. If curry started shiitting some gold bricks you guys would find something to complain about that. Does he still have alot to work on? heck yea but I think curry is motivated to work on them . How can anyone not be happy with at least the improvement in curry so far??
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate
