gotta give the man props, hes been playing well lately... I think Walt made a great point him and Curry seem to be rounding into physical condition (Its obvious these guys dont take their condition very seriously in the offseason) But moving on to some compliments....

Marbury has been real good on D, and trying very hard lately. I for one salute you #3

Curry has been healthy and thats a major factor.

The guy is fulfilling his expectations and I'd have to say that if he can keep it up and The bulls don't get a top 7 pick from us then it was the trade the way it was suppose to be.

Craw must also get his due.

And DLee is the glue!

I am glad someone posted this because I was about to do so myself. Marbury is playing great defense and is really running the team on the court. He has finally learned when to score and when to pass, his outside shot seems to be falling, and I cannot remember the last time I saw him moping around. He still needs to work on controlling who is taking shots b/c Jeffries is clearly taking too many, but other than that, he has played some of the best basketball of his career.

and 7 TOs. Marb has got to cut down on that. Some of his passes/plays that ended up in TOs were on the ridiculous side of things.

marbs has been playing VERY well for the past 3-4 weeks.

2 things:

1. he looks like he lost considerable weight from opening night.
2. no francis.

yeah, the TO stat line was conspicuously absent, and I new he had alot, but damn SEVEN!!!!!

He had some pretty bad TO's last night, the whole team did, and I think they need to tighten that up. But I also think they were up so big, so early, they weren't really super focussed all game.

I think that's the biggest reason why.

I think this is his best stretch as a Knick - I hope he can keep it up.

I have noticed that two... as he's older he should definatly play at a lighter weight to regain some of that quickness. He's not the athlete he once was, but being lighter has clearly helped.

Most of all I havent seen him verbally berate a teammate on the court, something he did on a nightly basis in recent years.

I just hope he keeps it up. He's played well for stretches before, but usually hits a funk for one reason or another. Remember his MO is moody.

He's got to know he's getting near the end of his options. He gets dumped from here and he's in hoops limbo.

I almost liked the Marbury trade. He was a good fit with Deke/KT/KVH/Doleac. That team had some mojo before Isiah screwed it up.

Then Marbury started with his "best PG in basketball crap" and the Knicks played about .350 ball since, while Steph put up good numbers, didnt play D and acted like an ass on the court.

Ive rooted for worse guys.. just play well and be a good teammate. NY can like anyone.

he has no other options. it's the coach he's always wanted. if isiah gets canned, then marbury will be out the door right after him. so this is it for him.

Every PG occasionally has a high TO game. TOs haven't been a serious problem for him in the bigger picture though.

he's been a complete PG for the past month & a half... props to him for that... hopefully he can keep it up over the course of an entire season & lead this team deep into the playoffs.

true, true. For me though it is HOW the TOs came to be: Pick on Iggy, coming over the halfcourt line and picking up dribble while being double teamed, dribble off of leg, trying to pass through tons of traffic, etc. Like that. Your PG should be one of your smarter basketball people on the court if you are going to win consistently, and especially so if you are looking to get wins in a playoff situation, and tripely so if he has the ball in his hands for a lot of the offense.

Agreed, they were really BAD TO's, not just mess ups, like really really bad. But thats an aberration.

I tend towards the other side of the argument. I always thought that Marb was a pretty good passing SG/scorer who just liked the ball in his hands the entire time instead of a good scoring PG. His passing is not fluid or thoughtful or one step ahead of the play like Crawford (occasionally) or Nash or some of the others. He does have flashes of course but it doesn't seem like his true form IMHO.
