RAYYY AALLENN!

It makes all the sense in the world, and that's probly why it won't happen.

We need a 3PT shooter BADLY and a leader and a guy that can take over games on the perimeter while Curry does it down low.

Seattle is sucking wind pretty bad, and might as well start fresh, bump Rashard up to franchise status.

Crawford
Frye
-filler-

for

Allen
-filler-

When Jefferson returns in Jersey, they'll take the East, and we'll be left out. Chicago gets a lottery pick in a DEEP draft.

Orrr, we get RAYYY AAALLENN, and throw out this lineup to compete in the East for the next 3-4 years.

Marbury
Allen
Jefferies
Lee
Curry

with a deep as hell bench.

Remember Isiah backed the Marbury trade in the beginning b/c he felt his penetration would create open shots for H2O.

Well......
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I don't think Seattle would make that deal and I think they could get more for Allen somewhere else if they shopped him, but its not that crazy...

Frye is young and you're right, they're going nowhere this year. Allen is older and a franchise in their position should consider dealing him before his value drops. Crawfords young and his roots/popularity to Seattle are a selling point - even throw in Nate for the same reason. Unfortunately that last factor likely comes out of play at seasons end which hurts selling them on ticket sales staying consistent or going up.

I don't think Seattle would do it, but this is not a crazy idea.

I dont think I can pass a deal that makes us look like a contender in the East. We will still have two young big men who will reaching their prime when Marbury and Allen are over the hill.

How long does his contact run?

Not really.

Only 1 year longer than Marbury's.

You can't pass up a deal that makes us top 5 in East.

Besides, Allen makes sense for Marbury AND Curry.

I would rather stay with craw. Craw is very good when he has got it going and lately he has had it going. Ray is not perfect especially since he was shut down by the knicks, lol.

If you look at it like marbs getting old and you are trying to maximize your chances while he is in his prime then do it. On your way, being webber in also to upgrade frye giving you a legit reason to bench lee. Then go from there.

Webber
Q
Curry
Marbs
Ray

Not bad especially if you consider the bench you would have behind them.

Experience and poise in your starters and then bring in the mad men off the bench.

I'm down if the knicks only trade frye, and craw, and fillers. I can see Nate go too.

Having Jared, balkman, lee, and cato off the bench is some serious hurtin. Maybe Watson can come too.

What is dolan gonna say about all this?

Yooo, that's what I've been saying man, we just need to bring in raymond and we'd probably be a championship contender, even if you have to trade Lee, weeeeeeeeeeee. Just ask Calhoun. Yeeaaah Raaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!#*&($#&()*##########$()

No Way. There is no comparison between Allen and Q. Not only is Ray "arguably" the best shooter in the game, he is a very versatile offensive player who can take it to the hole with authority and throw it down. Ray had a nagging injury to his ankle I believe, but dont compare that to Q's cronic back injury which isn't going to get better.

With that said, I would perfer to get younger in the back court to go with our young front court. But Ray Allens skill-set is the perfect compliment to Marbury and Curry. Allen will be 32 this summer which would worry me, but the jumper is usually the last to go.

Malik, Jamal & Nate for Ray Allen & either Damien Wilkens or their protected 1st rounder is the most i would give up w/o Marbury or Francis being involved in the deal... forget about putting Frye in that deal.

taking on an extra year of max salary of a player nearing the end of his prime who had an injury riddled season last year is going in the absolute opposite direction of where we need to be going at this point.

C - Curry / Cato / Turd
PF - Lee / Frye
SF - Jefferies / Balkman
SG - Allen / Q Rich / Wilkens
PG - Marbury / Collins
IA - Francis

I agree. Good deal. Not sure Seattle goes for it, but they might. Besides, Crawford has a large bloated contract too, so I wouldn't mind Ray Allen's instead. Frye in the deal does not bother me if we combine it with signing Webber. As was posted earlier:

C-Curry
PF-Webber
SF-QRich
SG-R. Allen
PG-Marbury

Bench:
C-Cato
C-James
PF-Lee
SF-Jeffries
SF-Balkman
SG-Nate
PG-Francis (will probably be bought out)
PG-M. Collins

Not bad. Webber and Ray Allen over Frye and Crawford is a no brainer. We still need another trade or two to clean up the glut (combined with the likely buy out of Francis), but it's a big improvement. Plus, adding Ray Allen would actually make the team more watchable.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

you go after ray only after a top PF is acquired.

if we're able to trade for jermaine, then package crawford + nate + 2007 bulls pick for ray in an ALL IN type of move.

otherwise, no point in getting ray to play with this group.

but i am worried that crawford is going to opt out and then we're going to sign him to a bigger extension.

I don't think that deal will happen, it doesn't co-exist with the youth movement the Knicks are in. Besides, Ray Allen is past him prime, and he's often bitten by the injury bug these days. I think the solution is to get rid of Steph once his contract is up instead of acquiring a has been like Ray Allen. He's nowhere close to being a franchise player, heck I don't even know if he's going to the All-Star game this year, is he ?
