This is somewhat comical since the prophet has been looking for a backup center and overpaid to bring in James here, but check out Deke

Over his last seven, does the guy ever age?

Have to give the old man his due

I think he's so old that he's stopped aging.

Nah, I can't really hate on Deke. He blocked ten shots for us a few years back.

Bring him back in the eastern conf and oppossing teams centers will take him away from the basket by shooting jumpers on him all day long and therefore nullify his recent rebounding dominance.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

It may have had something to do with the attack of spoon, harrinton, eisley, ward, and anderson, he at least makes the games somewhat interesting and fun

against the Nets which made it sweeter! Too bad his defense was never appreciated by Isiah and the fans. Our defense was good that year until we traded for Marbury, TT & Nazr. Since then we've givn up 100+ virtually every game

Deke was awesome. He had good chemistry going with some of our teammates. But Isiah got rid of him. There's a reason why JVG pushed so hard to get Deke. He's been great for Houston.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

How is Deke? On paper he's 40 but I think I remember a lengthy discussion along the line of his birth certificate saying he's 43 or so. He was accussed of lying about his age on a contract extension, no?

Have you guys watched him play recently? JVG has him playing to his strengths in Houston, along the lines of Buck Williams's days with the Knicks.

That was back in the days when Isiah was trying to get rid of anyone associated with the Layden regime even if the coach wanted to keep them.
I just hope that people will like me

Yep. It's real tough to support a GM with those kinds of motives.

I'd rather have Motombo than James anyday. But the trade was for Crawford. I can't support Isiahs MLE moves (Baker, JJ1, JJ2). I can't support his coaching hires either, 'til he hired himself.

LB wasn't all bad, but he couldn't coach this team. So far it looks like only Isiah can.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Please deke was garbage when he was here, 10th man at best, but if you put him in a defensive system with a defensive coach, then yeah.

Is a secret that houston, just like the knicks were, are the best defensive team in the nba.

JVG is the reason. Put anyone of the rockets players, except for shane, and deke, on another team and they'll be given up a 100 night.

Deke vs. the Lakers: 19 boards, 5 blocks, 7 points in 33 minutes.

!

Amazing that Houston is playing better right now without Ming, Sura, Wells, and Snyder (who is back from IR but only playing a minute or two a game.

Let me ask, how are Knicks games in this alternate universe? You do realize that by that statement you effectively said that most of the following group was better than Deke: Michael Doleac, Clarence Weatherspoon, Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley, and Othella Harrington. Otay.

Deke had 19 rebounds the other night... clearly he's on his last legs.
