Kidd files complaint against his wife

Kidd claims wife mistreated their children:

Jason Kidd, who for years has blown kisses to his wife before each free throw, filed a domestic-violence complaint yesterday accusing her of mistreating their children.

"It has been painful for Jason Kidd to watch the effect of his wife's behavior on their children," said Madeline Marzano-Lesnevich, a lawyer representing the New Jersey Nets point guard.

Lesnevich would not comment further or discuss the details of the complaint, filed yesterday in the domestic violence division of state Superior Court in Hackensack.

Police in Saddle River - where Kidd lives with his wife, Joumana, and their three children in the Burning Hollow section - said they haven't received any recent complaints or written any reports on any domestic-related matters from the home.

While playing in Phoenix for the Suns, Kidd was arrested in January 2001 after his wife called police and reported that he had hit her during an argument over their son, Trey Jason (T.J.), who was 2 at the time.

Kidd later pleaded guilty to spousal abuse and was fined $200. He was also ordered to take anger management counseling. His record later was expunged.

Jason and Joumana Kidd have been married for 10 years and have three children - T.J. and twins Miah and Jazelle.

This has to be the reason why Jason went up his wife's head before?

Could be a case of a man protecting his kids. Wow

This just doesn't seem to be the Nets year. With their big guy out, Kidd getting older and having personal problems, and with Carter rumored to be heading to Orlando next season, maybe it's time for them to think about rebuilding.

Good prelude to a divorce.

If he can prove this, he can boot her ass out and not pay her much.

I guess they are seporated? You just don't wake up over breakfast and do this kind of stuff.

She could just be a neglectful mother whom ignores them and does not provide a safe environment. Having abusive nanny's and with improper "due dilligence" would be neglective behavior.

She might be spending "nights out" and perhaps there was an event with a baby sitter that she was slow to react to.

Maybe she just can't cook!

She might look real nice but a real b!itch can get ugly once they get under your skin!

I feel for Jason. Being with the wrong woman, particularly an abusive one, can just be a terrible situation. I wish him well.

And yes... pretty women are usually bitches.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

i think it's because Jason's bisexual & his wife refused his request for a 3 some w/RJ... it's as clear as day.

In hoopshype.com there are some blurbs about this marriage being on the rocks and he is retaliating.

Looks like this is getting ugly and Jason is using this as leverage.

They ain't the "Christies" I reckon!

About 5 p.m., Joumana Kidd said, she decided to go to the gym and asked Jason if he would watch and feed their 2-year-old son, T.J. Police said Kidd took a french fry from the boy's plate, and his wife told him not to eat the child's food.

"Jason then turns towards Mrs. Kidd and spits the french fry at Mrs. Kidd, striking her in the face," the police report said. "Mrs. Kidd turns away from Jason. Jason then strikes Mrs. Kidd in the face while holding a container of yogurt in his hand"

According to the complaint, Joumana Kidd used the couple's 8-year-old son on Dec. 27 to sneak into the Nets locker room and rummage through Jason Kidd's locker to find his cell phone. After looking up the names and numbers on it, the complaint said she left her son to behind as she went upstairs to take a front row seat, where she shouted insults at Kidd throughout the game.

The papers accuse Joumana Kidd of kicking, hitting, punching and throwing household objects at her husband as she became "increasingly controlling and manipulative" in the last few years of their union.

According to Kidd, his wife had tracking devices installed on his cars and computers and has harassed his trainer, friends and family.

Eek. That woman is psycho. Unfortunately, psycho is your typical woman. Let this be a lesson to you guys; most women are nuts. If you see signs of such, don't ignore them.

yeah, that sounds like a typical complaint filed by a psycho female against her man... don't always believe the reports you read... so completely unprovoked the guy would spit a french frye at his wife's face & then hit her? think there might be just a few details missing from that account? i kinda think so.

the justice system in this country is set up to take the woman's side everytime, trust me... i've been through all this before & the guy's side of the story often times gets completely ignored if the female is the one filing the complaint... that's not to say that ever hitting a woman is the right thing to do, but alot of times a woman can concoct a bold faced lie to the police & file a report & they'll have the guy arrested & thrown in jail for a day w/o any hard proof to the alleged violence... it will then be up to the guy & his lawyer to prove his innocence, or at least prove that the charges were unfounded, but little ever happens to the woman who files the claim, & she walks away w/a protection order against YOU! yes, i've been through this before fellas, & no, i've never hit a woman... in Jason's case he pled guilty to the charge, so he must have really hit her, which i can't excuse, but there had to be some sort of motivating cause... if this guy was a habitual woman beater, there would have been charges filed against him for similar acts long before that Phoenix incident & long before he ever met his wife to begin with.
