if francis does sign with philly, than i have no doubtin my mind that brown was behind the ariza trade

Posted by NYKniCksFan87: That was my reaction too. Isiah was just getting the coach the players he wanted (although he should have realized not to listen to Larry by that point). |

Why buyout, just trade them straight up for each other. NY gets the better because Webber has 1 less year on the contract. NY throws in JJ to make it even $$ wise....either one.
With the extra roster spot, IT works his magic and gets a NBDL big and SG. |

Whos minutes does he get? Do you really want Webber sulking on the bench while he hogs Lee and Fryes minutes? The only way I trade for Webber is if they take Francis and Jerome. Then I probably buy out Webber.

Posted by NYKniCksFan87: There was never a doubt that Brown begged for Francis. His comments afer the trade support that thoery. Just like here, Francis really doesnt make sense for the sixers either. They need to continue to dump salary and focuse on their youth (Iggy, Carney, Korver etc). But when it comes to personel moves, not-making-sense and Brown go hand and hand. (and LOL at Brown having to bolt to the same places all over again) [Edited by - bigbeast on 01-09-2007 08:25 AM] "Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

if you could do a francis for webber deal- I think you would look to make a deal sending frye elsewhere for perhaps a good shooting guard or SF (dare we say Artest?)
Then, you can start webber, have him stretch the defense and pass out of the high post- let him play 28 mins a game and have lee come into the game for either curry or webber and play 35mins a game. Webber has no lateral movement, but then no one here is impressed with Frye's D. You get someone like an artest to bolster/balance out our back court/perimeter defense. I don't see philly taking on Francis' extra year, though. |

Webber is always hurt anyway.
As for trading Frye...I'm not there yet. I think Frye could learn from Webber's game. |

This article makes my headspin, though I did suggest a few days ago to trade Francis for Webber b/c it'd be a net savings for us ( 1 less year). Though checking realGM this morning, it looks like we'd need to add another mid-level salary to Francis to make the trade happen.
Thing is you know LB and IT are probably not even talkign and there's no way they trade with each other, even if it would be mutually beneficial in this case (provided that Philly wants Francis and NY wants Webb). |

Don't buy out Francis... We're one injury away from needing him, its really stupid.. his contract is 3 YEARS... Come on
