I love reading this board but sometimes it bothers me the criticisms and praises of Isiah. Everyone wants to give credit to Isiah for Curry becoming a better player and Lee having a great year. If Isiah has a magic potion why dont he use it on Nate and Frye. Channing game hasnt got better this year and Nate has regressed. Channing has a lot of skills that he performs well, but he still has the same weaknesses that he had last year. Has Isiah worked on Jamal decision making which still stinks? I think you grade a coach on a few things. Does he have the right men out there? Do they compete everynight? Does he adjust at halftime? We will see if Isiah will set a rotation of 9 guys and make some tough decisions in the upcoming weeks. Thoughts?

i mean you right - I think it says a lot that Jamal regressed under Thomas... The one player who grew last year.

The curry thing is still up for grabs... I think Isiah is doing a good job with him but I also give a tun of credit to Mark Aguire and Herb for his development.

As far as Lee goes - I think Lee gets the credit for Lee. He worked his ass off this summer and got better, plain and simple. He's a great player if anything Isiah is not using him enough and holding him back. So the only credit Isiah gets for Lee is drafting him imo

Frye and nate... I dont know.. tough call... I think nate actually got a little better this year as opposed to last year.. Frye is coming around but it remains to be seen.

You don't give Isiah credit for Curry, that is all aguire, and where does Isiah get credit with Lee, Suhr scouted the kid and told isiah to draft him, lee needed minutes he worked on his game this summer........

Were Isiah ****ing sucks is with guards, mr. all world point guard can't teach the position and our two guards crawford and nate have had terrible seasons, nate doesn't ever pass the ball, and crawford is shooting a horrible percentage and really adds at least 6 points to the score in the wrong column every game with his bad shots.....

Frye is just not that good, he is a jumper shooter with a great stroke, take that away and he has no game......

Elite - Lee is just another case of the brother tryin' to hold the man back.

Nah, Isiah is killing Channing Frye's career. Then again, since Marbury is the teacher's pet, his injury doesn't matter....

"I think he'll probably be sore for a while," Thomas said. "But he's a trouper in terms of fighting through injury and playing in pain and playing when he hasn't had both legs under him. He hasn't complained, but you can tell some nights he's explosive and hard to guard. Some nights he can barely move."...

Who cares about the arbitrary chatter over which players Isiah is hurting or helping? Has anyone ever seen Isiah work with any player at practice.

And yes, I'm talkin' bout practice.

It's a team sport.

All that matters is, "are the Knicks playing better basketball?"

You guys slay me

How about praising or blaming the Knicks as a team?

I'm not sold on Curry. He had a nice 12 game run but he's fallen back alittle lately. I think playing alot of 40+ minute games will catch up to him in march/april.

A Few Good Answers

Q. king1 - Has Isiah worked on Jamal decision making which still stinks?

A. Depends on whether Jamal's shot is dropping or not. Jamal may be impulsive, but he does not stink. Hey, nobody's perfect and the young man will learn or have a seat on the pine.

Q. king 1 - Does he have the right men out there?

A. As opposed to the wrong men? Who are the right men?

Q. king 1 - Do they compete everynight?

A. The Knicks have shown a willingness to have each other's back. They have shown resilience and the ability to win a few close games against decent teams. Utah and Chicago ain't no pushovers. We'll see how things progress/regress in the next ten days in the manner they compete.

Q. kiing 1 - Does he adjust at halftime?

A. Haven't stood that close to him after he takes a pee. You know anyone who is in the locker room who can provide a report?

Isaiah hired Suhr and went with Suhr's recommendation to draft Lee. He definitely deserves credit for that pick.

Ira - are you crazy?

Suhr was also responsible for Frye, Nate, Balkman and Mardy Collins. They all suck. Don't you listen to Greg Anthony?

Ergo, Isiah sucks.

Credibility Alert

Did MS really say "Frye is just not that good, he is a jumper shooter with a great stroke, take that away and he has no game"?

I have another idea

Don't praise or blame Isiah.

Why not simply allow him to do his job, without the estrogen-inflated hysterics, for the same length of time that Scott Layden or Al Bianchi was granted?

Why not support the young Knicks players instead of micro-judging their flaws?

Who are the REAL losers?

The players or the so-called fans?

As a Knick fan what are you really happy with looking at the team......

I am happy with

1. Qis a warrior and I love his leadership and the way he competes, but he has a serious back injury, and who knows when it goes out for good, and the team is stuck with another contract, but we need his locker room presence....
2. David Lee has been amazin one of the main reasons to watch the knicks, you couldn't complain about anything he has done, epitomy of a winner, improved his moves around the basket, added size, worked on his free throws, improved his outside shot
3. Balkman-has no offensive game to speak of, but is always challenging shots, getting rebounds and coming up with big plays on defense, great finisher on the break, much needed attitude.
4. Cato-been solid at backup, yet another reason why isiah is brain dead, cato for 1 million, brings more than james at 5 year 5 million.

Jury is out
1. Curry: improved moves around the rim, he is in a little better shape, but still came in grossly out of shape again this year, needs to realize his body is long and consistently get his hands up.

2. French Frye: His jumper is rounding into form, but his willingness to pain and get garbage points is alarming, misterearl what does Frye do other than shoot jumpers? His hands are horrible and weak, he is limited athletically and has trouble finishing around the basket, can't guard anyone. Needs to be more of a force defensively, and play harder inside. He occasionaly has a nice hook shot in the point but other than that what does he bring. Curry/Frye you need to pick one.
3. Jefferies
4. Nate is still a huge ?, needs to be under control and stop acting like a child

Here is whats not to like
1. Steve Francis, the guy was a problem everywhere but Isiah brought him in there is no question, when he was suspended in orlando for causing problems, something he has done everywhere. He is a child, complains after every call and could be finished with knee problems.....
2. Big Snacks, just defies logic how stupid this signing was
3. Crawford, continues to play like a bonehead, and Isiah continues to give him the greenlight, never does he take crawford out of the game and sit him down after he creates transition baskets for the other team.
4. Isiah unwilling to put his best team on the floor and relegating the teams most important player to the bench
5. If Eddy don't score Eddy don't play its that simple, he has been average against the best centers in the league, aside from Ben Wallace. He is never going to be a consistent player unless he is the focal point of the offense because he doesn't do the things to win....
6. Isiah had the luxury of getting rid of two players something maybe no other team in basketball could do, why not just send them home and see what was out there didn't make sense, Dolan could approve all trades besides
7. Uneeded depth at redundant positions that take away a players ability to define his role
Isiah just doesn't get it:
1. Insults the fans
2. Tries to raise expectations every chance he gets, ie Jefferies is the guy, all defensive first team player after one victory against an atlanta team missing two key players, we are building towards a championship.

If the team would just play, instead of worrying about the crowd, larry, excuses, embarrassing the franchise they would be much better off

Who are the real loosers, man you are too funny.

I mean I guess compared to NBA players we are all loosers, they make way more money than we do.

You have to be on crack or related to Marbury to post what you post lol.

Well, how do you define winning in life if you don't even know the person The only superficial measure is financial success. I'd love to be able to make a more informed judgment, but I don't know any of the players personally.

That kind of why your statement was so ridiculous, sounded like something out of a bad movie, like who is the real monster here! LOL

simrud - Does Marbury contributing to Katrina victims, or attempting to make kids feel better about themselves with affordable basketball kicks make him a better person?

Or is Michael Jordan a better person because he has more chedda?

I'm confused

4. Cato-been solid at backup, yet another reason why isiah is brain dead, cato for 1 million, brings more than james at 5 year 5 million.

That makes Isiah brain dead?

I would say it is more like getting the ball stolen from you on offense then hustling back on D and swatting away a layup...or in other words making up for your mistakes.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
