I think Curry is playing bad because Q is not on the court along with the refs making bogus calls. I feel because Q is not on the court with his outside shooting teams are just collapse down on Curry. We do not have a guy that has a consistent outside shot in the starting line up now. So teams are just doubling Curry all day. Teams will continue to cheat on the defensive end until we get outside shooting help.

not really, the other guards are capable of hitting the open shot. This is more of an adjustment in the NBA, once you start playing good enough to get noticed, your every move and style is listed in the scouting report. Teams have watched the knicks and curry, they just have to adjust. Of course having Q definately helps that situation, but it works both ways if Curry is playing well, then the open shots will come. I blame the refs for calling these bogus offensive fouls, opponents are just flopping at will. I see Eddy attempt a post move, the guy will fall on the floor and get the offensive foul call. The same guy will go up and take body contact from a running player in fast break and not fall (with full momentum. The shaq rule is definately being applied to eddy.

When Curry was having big games he was also grabbing rebounds, and blocking shots. The NBA is about adjusting and right now everyone is starting to double team him. Once his passing gets better and they get some easy shots EC will get one defender again.

he had a couple off games... things like that happen to even the best players in the NBA... i wouldn't put much into it other than he wasn't on his game.

Normally when he gets in foul trouble early we get nothing out of him. I thought last night he displayed some resiliency. He didn't pout and hide behind the blaming of the refs. Instead he came out hard late in the game and made a couple big baskets.
I just hope that people will like me

Curry is reverting to his old fouling ways, hes dissapearing on D and looks like he has no confidence... And we thought he turned the corner

bad players can also have a couple of great games...

time will tell with curry. he's ours for years so no need to rush to judgment either way. but IT needs him now, without the luxury of experimenting with too many different lineups around him. we'll see.

Masterplan, a string of 11 straight games is not a fluke hot streak by a bad player... the kid has a ton of talent.

its hard to get in the game when, if you sneeze it's an offensive foul. Still even with that, he didnt put his head down, he came up big down the stretch.

Two things are hurting Eddy lately:

1 - Teams are throwing 2, sometimes 3 defenders on him to get the ball out of his hands. Eddy MUST figure out (or be taught) how to deal with this. If he wants to be an all-star, this is the type of attention he will attract from defenses. The test now is whether Eddy wants to jump to the next level or if he's satisfied with occasional scoring binges.

2 - When he was on a rampage, refs were giving him star calls. They weren't calling as many offensive fouls and he was getting a lot of calls on the offensive end. These calls seem to be going back to the old way and it seems to be frustrating Eddy. He was doing a good job during his tear of keeping his fouls down but you can't play well when you're sitting on the bench in the 1st quarter.

i considered putting a smiley of some kind after that- speaking generally, didn't mean to say curry was actually a bad player, but also don't think that entirely vindicates him as a player either. my point was just that he can't rest on his laurels for the remainder of the season because of one hot streak. he should be judged on his entire season, not his best few weeks.
the kid has a ton of talent.

don't we all know it! that streak was better than he's done his entire career, but still not enough.

Someone posted a great thread a while ago about where Curry's assists were coming from. A big percentage of Q's assists were going to Curry. It may not be the prevailing factor, but I think it might at least be part of the reason. That and the fact that Marbury is playing well again- Marbury's not been big feeder of Curry...

it definitely because of Q not being there to feed him the way he does with those bounce passes on the baseline

I think its because he's not getting the ball enough and when he does he panics so he picks up more charges than usual. He's not getting it right spot at the right time. I'll play closer attention next time

curry had that string of big games b/c we were playing ****ty teams with no big men.

he's soft and fat and lazy on defense.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Curry is a good option to play against teams with no or weak inside presence.
He should be played limited minutes against teams with big and defensive-minded C and PFs
In the Jazz game IT was forced to substitute Eddy with Cato on defensive positions to get some stops and it worked.
But in general with all scoring Curry can provide he is the 0-efficiecy player.
Even Cato or Malik can be more serviceable if they will just play defense and do screening for the guards.

Eddy is good for highlights – alleups, dunks, and that’s it.
He cannot help us win games. At least he is not at this level yet.
But to be fare - he is not the minus any more - so I consider this an improvement.

Is Curry playing bad because Q is not on the court?
