Wow, is no one going to stand behind their team. The real fans, in many cases the ones that grew up with the Ewing-Oakley-Starks squad, support this team. The beat writers the media, most of them have never grown up where you had to fight for respect. Dont get me wrong you should avoid fighting. But I was always taught that in addition to avoiding a fight you HAVE TO defend yourself and your family. The Knicks are a family. Collins took offense to the showboating and I would have to. Nate stepped in JR's face when JR thought he could mouth off to Collins and get away with it. The same way Jeffries protect his teammate when Melo thought he could hit and run and get away with it. All the fans that have had to stand up for themselves and their loved ones know what I mean. The others who have no idea what im talking about... well congratulations. But we need to stand behind our team. I will not follow the others that have condemned and turned their backs on this team. I say good job Collins, good job Nate, good job Jeffries, because they showed they will stand up for each other the same way Ewing, Starks, and Oakley stood up. Shouldnt we?

come on, most of us are stuck with this franchise, whether we like the current cast of characters or not. But the people who are exasperated are so because of the poor performances and circus management that's transpired across years, not because of this most recent incident.

we'll all be here b-tching about the same heartless/headless effort, followed by the same post game spins and excuses tomorrow. you and the knicks are stuck with us, just as we are them.

Is Isiah part of that family? Is Marbury? Francis? Jerome James?

Fans really like to project what they want their team to be, and not look at what their team actually is.

Its like we both have brothers who are alcoholics. You want to pick yours up, give him a shower, clean the puke off his shirt, tell his family and job he's OK and cover for him.

I want to send his ass to rehab, tell him what a FU he is, let him get fired and tell his family not to take him back until he goes to AA meetings or something and gets his life straightened out.

Do you love your bother more than I love mine?

Ive put a lot of thought into this...

how do you stand behind some of the players but not management? Or how about some of the players but not others?

Personally, I don't really see a bad thing with Karl keeping his starter in. I don't see a bad thing with Collins committing a hard foul. I don't see too much of a bad thing with JJSkinny going a little nutty. I think Nate could have handled his part MUCH better, but the tone has already been set by Isiah that Nate can do what he wants without too much repercussions and so the zaniness continues with him.

Hey, are you asking us to be homers here? Give me a break.

This is a little off topic but I wish some folks would stop comparing our current Knicks to the Ewing Knicks.

It's not the same team - not even close. And more importantly, it's not the same NBA.

In today's NBA where zones and hand-checks and superstar calls are running around, there's no way we could play Riley thugball.

Yes, you obviously put a lot of thought into this. Your rehab analogy is inappropriate here. It doesn't fit the context I was referring to. I never said changes don't have to be made to this roster. However, the fact of the matter is this, I support their actions last night. Not only because I am a Knicks fan, but also because I understand their point of view. When you read the papers of some of these writers, its almost as if they have NO point of reference with which to judge this team. Absolutely none. But I understand all of these things. I even understand Isiah's moves, not that I agree with them (hindsight is always 20/20). Thats the only point I am trying to make.

I hope you are NOT talking about the beat staff when you are talking about "writers". There may be some on and off commentators, but most of them follow the Knicks like it's their JOB... cause it is.

This incident, isolated, may not be much of a bad thing, and if the Knicks had a really good record not much would have been made of it but for the lost time incurred by suspensions, but it's the neverending crap that MSG keeps putting out with Isiah and co.

I still dont get your point. Do you want Isiah here or gone? Marbury/Francis here or gone? Crawford? Curry? You want them here or gone? Does supporting them mean you are happy to have them here? Then no, I dont support them. Have I paid money to go to the Garden and cheer them on to win? Yes, I have done that.

What is bothering you?

I won't let this pathetic team get me so desperate that I think they are accomplishing something by getting into a shoving a bitch-slap fest at the end of a game where they get blown out once agin.

Go pump your chest like tough guys when you play like tough guys.

Oakly could give a guy a hard fould, but he could also grab a reboudn in traffic.

thats cool. I dont really have a problem with any of it later. Whats get under my skin is if guys are so upset about getting it rubbed in their noses how about playing harder? We all know Isiah's practices are soft so he doesnt kill anyone's joy. How about coming out for a change and NOT getting blown out by the 2nd qtr??? Wouldnt that be nice?

Are people here really killing the guys involved? Nate's dumb, but can you blame him? He can do anything he wants. He showboats, he missed circus dunks, he picks up idiotic fouls, he picks up goaltends on shots not going in... and what happens? Isiah does nothing. He sits him for 30 seconds and Nates back in the game.

I dont think people are really that upset around here about what the players did. More its about Isiah and the state of the Knicks in general.

Well. I think I am one of a few that did not have a problem with Mardy Collins fouling Smith or JJ2 standing up for his teammate. I have a problem with Nate trying to throw gas into the flame but in the heat of the battle I can look the other way. When I play basketball or anykind of sport, I view at as a battle and my teammates are my brothers. So there, sue me.
