You could see part of it on tv. Collins made his way to the Denver bench then backed off just like Melo did.

lol look at Mello (a righty) fighting southpaw, the pampered fake-thug has probably never even been in a fight before (as his loping slap-punch shows). If youre going to act like a thug at least know how to fight

I saw that. Definitely was on. He completely backed away when Nene stepped in the way.

Melo is lucky that Marcus Camby tripped Jared Jefferies, as he was running after him, though. That guy was about to catch up to him and pummel him.

yeah, just about the same time when JR Smith went running back to his bench & then went back at Mardy trying to act tough... all these guys need to stop frontin & acting like they're thugs.

Agreed. Starting with Isiah's west side of Chicago crap.

Yes. It was not a punch. it was a slap. Why do people keep saying Melo punched him. It was an open hand slap.

it was not an open hand slap dude... he hit him w/a closed fist, only he hit him w/the flat part of his fist & not w/the knuckles, like kids punch each other when they're little on the playground

Are NBA players unable to leave behind the bad habits of the tough neighborhoods they grew up in?

Is the player we see smiling for the cameras the real front?

Or are these just millionaire softy tupac wanna-bes?
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

If anything there are less incidents in the NBA than there are in other sports....How is it possible that you can call yourself a fan of the game and make a statement like that???

in Melo's case he obviously can't put his days of fighting kids in the sandbox behind him... he's got the flat side of the fist punch & run away technique down pat.

Absolutely not. Collins did everything he could to do get at Melo, but coaches and everyone did a great job at keeping the two separated. Finally it ended up essentially being two Nuggets + their coaches vs. just Collins, he got pushed a bit, and stepped back. Ended up where Jefferies was being restrained. Collins chased Melo down with intent to kill.

Melo, on the other hand, just sucker punched and ran.

So was I. And he didn't run to the bench, he ended up at the bench. He ran and tried to confront him closer to the basket than their bench (or more in the middle of the two). Couldn't get around, got pushed back to the bench, then you can see the rest on camera. He chased Melo down and couldn't get at him. I just rewatched the ending... exactly like I said, two Nuggets and coaches end up facing Collins, and of course he steps back at this point.

LOL Jared Jeffries is 85% show and 15% go. When did he become a tough guy? The guy is built like a paper clip. The Nuggets would have to knock him down. They could just turn on a fan and let the wind dlow him away. His hold me back act didnt impress me. If he wanted to really fight he would have fought
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Yeah the hold me back stuff is so Kiddy Little Tike Pre-Schoolish. Now Marcus Camby being held back but then reaching back to China for a Haymaker that's wanting to fight.

Wow, are you blind? Did you see the look on Jeffries face. He wanted to go straight fist to cuff with melo. Melo was the one that didnt impress me. His hit, run and scream approach shows that he is the real a punk. It took almost a whole squad to stop Jeffries and still they only just managed to slow him down. There was NO ONE holding back Melo. If MELO wanted to fight, he would have fought.

That's when you ask someone to hold you back. JJ didn't ask for anyone to hold him back. Pretty sure he was furious that he was held back.
