How much of a punk move was that for Melo to swing at Collins and then run back, he sucker punched him, he waited, waited and then it came quick. Then he retreats backwards when Jeffries goes after him, I thought Jared was ready to kill him, I wanted Jared to strangle him, you dont throw a punch liike that and then run away, wtf?

I'm glad they held jared back or we might have lost him for the season.

He was doing his best Jalen Rose impression. I lose alot of respect for players when they do stuff like that.

Melo reminded me KJ when the Knicks got into a brawl with Phoenix make in '94. I think KJ did something to set it off and did a two step all the way back to the locker room.

Jermaine got a 25 game suspension for that and served 15 after an arbitrator widdled it down. But that was justified as being in the middle of a brawl. Melo's punch was alot different. I think he gets at least 20-25.

yeah, he walked up to him face to face when everyone was around and didnt do anything. Then he comes up again when most people are focused elsewhere, throws the punch and retreats. It would be good if he gets 30gms.

I wonder how this affects the AI Trade

Well if you were mello after the punch and you saw players reaction would you have stayed there on the knicks side of the court and stood toe to toe with a bunch of white jersey's coming at you ??

Why throw the punch then ? Yoour melo, you have the most to lose. I guess he had to show he was bout it. Around Melo's stomach probably has THUGLIFE tatooed (pac reference)

I've never seen anyone move backwards so fast. The thing that comes to mind is why are Melo and Smith even in the game at that point? Karl was rubbing it in for his buddy LB. Remember how much he had to say about Isiah hanging him out to dry?

who was rubbing it in--the Knicks were down 30 two minutes into the third again how many times did Knick defenders let a Nugget right by them for uncontested dunks? the players that are assembled have NO chance to EVER be good.

lets understand this. Mardy does a bi*&* move & tackles JR. First off, JR should have decked him. You dont get away with a foul like that. Second, Nate needs to join WWE if he wants to start fights all the time. Third, Melo stood up for his good friend/teammate and layed Mardy out.
What the hell do you want him to do after that? Just start hitting random Knicks who did nothing wrong? After laying him out....he got out of a hostile situation and I think that made things a lot better than if he stuck in the mix. If he stood there...EVERYONE would have started swinging - not good. It would have been a pretty bad fight. If anything, Mardy & Nate need to be suspended for a few games. Melo maybe a smaller suspension for throwing a punch. Im a die hard knicks fan, but bottom line is no Nuggett player should be blamed or held responsible for this.

how is this relevant, the thread is about Melo and his punk move. We all know the story of how the team is poorly constructed. Beating us in the head night after night with the same rhetoric is pointless. I know others are thinking it, I just said it. no offense.

How in the hell did he remove him self from a hostile situation. If that was the case he would have not thrown the punch.

The foul was a bad foul, but this is the NBA and I have seen worse fouls commited without resulting in fights like this. You dont have to be a knick fan to realize that the nuggets have some role to play in this.

But with this logic, Melo could have turned a hostile situation into and even less hostile situation by not throwing a punch at all. And a smaller suspension for Melo? He easily gets 20 games. While I guess you could say the Knicks started the physical aspect of this fight, truth is that Karl should not have been playing starters
