For all the love Curry has been getting, even mentioning his performance against Big Ben did anyone check Wallace's line out tonight?

He was beasting over all beast tonight.

He had 15pts, 20reb, 5blks, 2stls and 2ast

Chicago is looking like they might be hitting their stride watch out.

We did not trade Ben Wallace for Edddy Curry, so I fail to see why I should care.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

They'd be unbeatable if they still had Curry.

that's a sick camby-esque line.

but we'll see if he keeps it up.

ppl seem to forget how the cury trade allowed them to sign him, so as far as i see it, in order for us to come out on top or atleast even, we cant afford to give them anything better than a very late lotto pick, like 12-14.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Wallace doesn't have to compete for boards with Lee, JJ and Q.

What do you mean? The Curry trade didn't give them any cap space

I think it freed up a few million for the Bulls, because of the 15% (now 25%) allowed difference in salaries. I'd have to look up the exact numbers, which I can't do right now.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

wasn't Curry a sign and trade deal? If it was...he would have came off their cap regardless....

it was a sign and trade for an expiring contract, not a longer one.... so no. If they had signed Eddie to a deal, they would NOT have been able to sign Ben.

The curry trade gave them like 2 mill in cap space. TT for Ad was a wash
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

You forget Curry's contract that they didn't have to pay.

In essence, they lost AD's and Curry's contract off their cap after last season. That enabled them to sign Wallace.

And since the Knicks draft pick this year is directly correlated to the Bulls won-loss record, I think their "going ballistic" is very pertinent to the Knicks.

The Knicks signed him to the extension not the Bulls. Curry made like 3 mill for the Bulls. Sweets made like 1.5 mill. Their cap gain was around 1-2 mill.

The Bulls gained cap room in the Jcraw trade.

The funny thing with all this is the same people minus a select few with open minds that hated on Curry a month ago still are hating on him. How he plays has no effect on the hate. He could put up 100-50 or 2-4 and it wouldnt make a difference.

People just don't look at things objectively I guess. There is a cause for concern at the moment. Ben's line was ridiculous.

Wrong plus the additional % if the Bulls retained him. Crawford was traded well before Curry. Essentially the deal Ben got is Curry's current contract. Ben get's paid more per yr but Curry's contract is longer. It allowed them to get far enough under the cap to make him an offer the Pistons had to refuse.

You dont gain cap space by not signing a guy to a big contract. You gain cap space by contracts being traded or expiring. Curry made 3 mill for the bulls. They didnt gain 16 mill in cap space from the trade. 60 mill over 4 years doesnt equal 54 mill over 6 years. Walalce averages 15 mill a year. Curry averages 9 mill a year. Ofcourse I know Jcraw was a separate trade. Where did I say he wasnt? If you like Wallace and the Bulls so much why remain a Knicks fan who you seem to dislike so much?

OMG, you really don't understand that because the Bulls didn't have to pay Curry anymore means that they cleared even more cap space that allowed them to sign Wallace?

how about this simple math: If Curry had taken the DNA test and passed and signed for 6 years at $60M, would the Bulls had the cap space to sign Ben? No.

Benard you have to be smarter than this! I can't believe what you just wrote.

He was coming off his rookie deal and entitled to a richer deal. You can also look at other examples on the Bulls squad. They signed Kirk Hinrich to an extension instead of allowing him to become an unrestricted FA, which means next yr's salary for the Bulls will be more than it is now. They also S&T Chandler for P.J. Brown who is an expiring deal. If they don't do that move but instead sign Chandler then add more salary to their cap next yr.
