How can the fans boo with the team up 3 with less than 3 minutes to go?

I watched most of the game yesterday and the fans for the most part did not boo as much as in the past few home games, but what shocked me was after the Bucks went on a run, which all teams do, and cut the lead to 3, the fans started booing. It is freaking less than 3 minutes left in the game, with your team up 3, and needing to make that final push to win the game and instead of either sitting quietly or shouting something else positive, the fans start booing the team. This team is really on its own and cannot count on the fans for any kind of boost of energy, which IMO is a big reason why the Knicks have a decent record on the road and a 3-8 (?) record at home.

I undrestand the general concern about booing but, when you say "the fans started booing" do you mean every fan in the stadium? Isn't it possible that only a small percentage of fans (those sitting in Section 404 no doubt) were actually booing?

The fans knew that the Knicks would let them back in the game. Yes every team goes on a run. The Bucks weren't so much making a run as the Knicks were giving it back with silly fouls/turnovers and not playing well. How can you basically put on a clinic in the 3rd quarter and then look like an out of sync high school team for much of the 4th quarter?

We didn't have anyone to back up Nate and Crawford, when they ran out of gas, along with Curry, the Bucks were bound to make a run.

It just shows the patience level at the Garden is still zero, despite some promising signs.

They Booed when Eddy misses freethrows, then chanted 'ED-Dy, ED-DY' at the end of the game. The fans got the players more confused than LB
"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

I loved the Eddy chant. reminded me of the Eddie chants from the 1970's-1980's. I cant remember the last time a Knicks crowd has chanted a players name. Can you guys?
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

What game was that? When I was there the presumed boo birds were cheering while you sat alone under a dark pensive cloud.

That would mean cheer more in other arenas were the fans aren't as smart......... IT really is SAD!!!

The Carolina Panthers fans are booing the Panthers after their FIRST series today with the backup QB playing. The Panthers have been pretty successful the last few years too.

Yeah, booing the home team NEVER happens like this outside of NY.

My point is that the fans are booing with the team up in the last minutes of a close game. If it happened in the 3rd quarter (or as in your example, in the first quarter), it would not be that big of a deal. The Knicks are just going to have to keep fighting before they can expect the booing to stop. I will say that it was great that the fans started chanting for Eddie. It was a smart move taking him out of the game at that moment. I have no doubt that the fans will eventually warm to this team. They just have to keep working hard and win some games at home.

That wasn't really directed to you point but to the whole booing nonsense in general.

As for you point, do you think that blowing a 17 point lead had anything to do with the little booing that did occur last night? Or do you want to pretend that there was vociferous booing for only having a 3 pt lead with 3 minutes to go?

Wait a second, you are comparing a team picked to represent the NFC in the superbowl by about everybody and is on what would translate into a 10 game losing streak in the NBA to fall out of the playoffs and hasn't gotten a first down in the first quarter at home????????????????? To the knicks, up 3 with 3 minutes to go?????

Sounds Fair.

*I'm watching that game, pathers just went three at out and I don't hear no boo's, but whatever... it's probably my TV*

hahaha..they were cheering the loss. Classic: I was standing up to cheer the starting lineup when djsu yells, SIT DOWN! hahaha! I know what you mean though. We have seen so many bad seasons, we almost expect it to get worse.

If they had given up the lead, booing is warranted, but since they were already playing with three starters out and lost another in the third quarter, doesn't it seem like the few guys we had left were bound to get tired? it's a game of runs. smartest fans in the world oughta know that by now.

Yes, the smartest fans in the world should know that there's always an excuse if you look hard enough. At least that's the way Isiah would like it to be.

Care to address why the Carolina Panther crowd was booing after just one offensive series today? I thought that stuff only happened in NY?
