Isiah Tanking the Season on Purpose?

Maybe he wants to get fired. I mean he got two technicals in a critical moment of a game. His rotations are weird. He won't give major minutes into "future all-stars" (as quoted on this board) like David Lee, unless he has to, due to injuries. He doesn't call enough plays from the bench, to keep his immature players heads in the game. He plays overpaid players, despite that they may not be the best options. He never says anything of substance to the media, and never admits fault. He complains to the media about his players not trying hard enough. He has a terrible record, even though he was supposed to be the "perfect coach" for this team. Maybe he's doing it just for the money? Is he tanking the season on purpose?
Yes (Worst coach ever; maybe even worse than Larry Brown)
No (I love Isiah, and he'll turn it around)
Undecided (I have no opinion, because I'm now a Lakers fan)

I doubt it. Let's not forget that not only his job, but his career could very well be on the line this season as well.

• No (I don't think it makes sense for a guy to try & worsen his already damaged reputation by tanking a season... he's a competitor & wants to win, but he's made alot of mistakes & he's too proud to change course now)

Yes, it's sabotage.

Him, Chaney, Lenny, Herb and Larry are all either senile fools or despicable saboteurs.

No other way to explain our poor performance after all, we have Marbury and Curry as cornerstones.

How can one answer this poll honestly when the responses are so loaded?

In fact, this entire poll seems strange to me. I even think most of Isiah's most vehement critics think he is trying to win. I would vote No (but I won't), but why does voting ONLY have to do with loving Isiah and assuming he'll turn it around? Why would Isiah tank the season when that means that the Knicks give the Bulls the best possible pick, making him look even worse on the Curry deal? And then, how on earth would he expect to survive the season as President/Coach/GM when Dolan gave him an ultimatum? If Isiah tanks the season and Dolan DOESN'T fire him, Dolan cannot save face at all.

exactly Pres... i can't imagine Isiah would be tanking on purpose... it serves him absolutely no good to do so... the contract is his regardless if he gets fired or not, so money cannot possibly be a motivating factor here... he wants to win... his moves haven't worked out for the most part, but that still doesn't take away the fact that he wants to see this team be successful.

He's trying to win but he's given himself a tough roster to win with. You have to do things perfect in order to win games with this roster. You look like an idiot when you don't do things perfect. Just like LB and Eddie and Don looked like idiots. That's why we need a balanced roster so the players can mask our weaknesses and the coach doesn't have to. Taht's the way it's supposed to be.

If he is trying to win - he is a loser in life (because he cannot)
If he is rtying to lose to tople the Knocks - he is a winner in life (because he succeed)

Eather way he can go to hell...

This year just seems like a repeat of last year with a different face on the bench. Only a matter of time before Zeke is cursing out Marbury and/or Francis in the media.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

i figured this wasn't as much a serious poll as a polemic on IT and LB's track records as coach of this bunch.

if we assumed LB was tanking when he had the team playing like this recordwise, where's the speculation on IT's motives? am i right Solace?

dolan gave IT a year in his ultimatum. i think as long as he doesn't allow any panic trades, he should give IT the whole time as promised.

Right on. Somebody gets my point. Seems like Isiah gets a lot of slack. More than has been earned.

I love how everyone says now "I can't answer any of these because the poll is loaded" just because they don't agree with the poll. I don't see how the poll is loaded, the choices are clear cut and there is a choice for everyone.

By the way, I agree with you Solace and Blue, it seems to me that Isiah gets alot more slack and undeservedly. I just can't see how he can get some slack when he's 92-146, thats a whopping .386 winning % as the head of this franchise. Doesn't make much sense to me.

How many GMs were going to have a better record with the pieces we started with?
Had we blown it all up, we'd be the same or worse record-wise.

Its not about the record. The boos are for the approach to how the team is built. They're not booing Isiah the coch they're booing the GM.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Isiah gets slack????? Where...The Knicks are down three to the Nets in the loss column...You hear nothing about the GM or Coach of the Nets who by the way has had a better team than the knicks for quite some time now....If Isiah gets a break, how is it Lawrence Frank name has never made a back page in this town...

Isiah gets slack from a group of posters on this board was the point of the word of the word "slack" sorry I didn't make that more clear. You are one of the posters that cuts him slack at every turn and if you want to argue with the 92-146 record he has as head of this franchise, go ahead and try it but you won't get far.
