New York Post -
The Cavaliers have been closely watching Channing Frye this season, according to a source. Isiah Thomas, meanwhile, has always had interest in Drew Gooden of the Cavaliers.

When Frye returns from his ankle injury in a few weeks, his role could be greatly reduced. David Lee continues to perform well, the Knicks are Eddy Curry's team in Thomas' eyes and Jared Jeffries may be ready to return as well.

Interesting. I would think Frye has some more value than just Drew Gooden if Isiah were to ever trade Frye to Cleveland. I like Gooden and all, he's a solid rebounder but Frye has to have more value then just Gooden. Cleveland doesn't really have any other young players I'd be interested in either. A 3rd team would have to be required.

if we're going to trade frye, use him to dump marbury or francis.

trade frye as a package with francis, buy out marbury, and give crawford his shot at the point.

if we do trade frye in a trade for gooden, we better at least be getting a 1st round pick also.

I made that thread after game three. Frye definitly has enough value to dump marbury.

Fry&Marbury for Gooden/Newbie/Snow and I would try and get a frist rounder....

im not a big jamal fan, but it is clear to me that he has played his best ball when running the point, it at least forces him to play more under control and he would have to be better than marbury and francis. im not the first to suggest that here. before crawford got traded to the knicks the scouting report on him was that to reach his full potential that is the position he woud need to play.

now of course a pure point guard would be great to get, but priority number one needs to be getting francis and marbury off the roster and we should see in crawford what we actualy have when he is not forced to play in the logjam we currently have. Bonn and holfresh, you can laugh all you want but i dont se why it doesnt make sense to see what we really have in jamal.

You won't be able to see what you have in Jamal until Steph is gone.

We should trade Francis to NJ with Frye for Vince and a pick. We need to have a player to go to down the stretch. We always look confused when it gets to be a critical point in the game.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

we should try and get Lebron. He is the only one on that team thats can help us win a championship. Any other trade would be Isiah making a dumb move.

I think that's just wishful thinking. Jamal's been the same player all seven years in the league--even the years without being on Marbury's team in Chicago. Jamal makes awful decisions even when Steph is on the bench too.

Yeah... I think the only way we give up Frye is in a package w/ one of our extra high contract PGs or w/ Jerome James.

I would rather have Boozer than Gooden.

How about Channing Frye Malik Rose and Desmond Mason To Boston
Wally Z and Nate Robinson to New Orleans
Delonte West Hilton Armstrong Theo Ratliff and a restricted boston #1 in 2008 to NY

I'm okay with Frye for Gooden. I think Gooden is better than Frye, honestly, but it's one of those trades that I don't really see the point of making. If we improve, it's only a slight improvement. I agree with the above posters, that the Frye trade we need is the one that dumps one or two long term contracts.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
