Remember the season before last how marbury played? He still had all the same flaws.. but he made shots.. went to the basket and got to the line.. kicked it out to teamates etc.....
This season to me it looked like he hasent worked on his game in years, i dont think marbury plays very often when hes not on TV... I get that feel from watching his game.. he totally relies on talent, I doubt very much if he worked at all this summer on his game and i think it shows.
While mentally he is a horror show that we all very well know, i think some attention needs to be paid to the fact that he simply isnt the same ball player he used to be.

I was worried about this when I saw that all he was doing was working with his new shoe thing. Yet, to me, I think he's just lost a couple of steps. His skills could improve, but I think he's losing his athletic ability, and hasn't gained an ounce of a head through all those years he listened to nobody. So what is he gonna do with all those skills? He doesn't have a clue what to do.
This is why CHris Webber is STILL successful. Ray Allen. Jason Kidd. This is why Allan was very good until he wasn't able to even run. B/c they were humble and learned how to play the game from all of their coaches. Marbury tuned everyone out and decided all he needs to do is be Starbury and he'll be alright. Forget everything else.
Both Marbury and Francis should be so much better than this right now. They aren't.
I think Jalen Rose said it best when he first came here and was asked if he'd have trouble adjusting to the LB system: "No, basketball is basketball." He can be mentioned in the above list too. I don't know what happened to his 'tude though while he was here.

The funny things with the shoe thing is, that Marbury is actually going to make anywhere betweek 4-5 million when its all said and done, which is more than any major company would pay him to endorse their product, so in reality he is making money off of these underpriveledged kids.....
If he were really a man who wants to get things moving he would donate that entire sum to build a community center for the kids in his area

let's not get on Marbury for his off the court charitable contributions... if nothing else, he gives a whole lot of himself back to the community... a helluva lot more than other NBA players as far as i know... i don't begrudge the guy from making money off the sale of his discounted sneakers... this is a capitalistic society afterall.

Marbury isn't donating money to charity. He's helping kids out, yes, but imagine how much MORE he could be making if the sneakers were at regular price (And supposed higher quality.) I'm fine with the actual work he's done. What I am not fine with is that it seems to be interfering with his work on the basketball court, and if that's the case, Marbury should have waited to do all this work until after he retires.

every ball player w/a sneaker deal spends time making commercials & marketing their products too... Marbury deserves flack for what he does ON the basketball court... anything he does away from basketball i really could care less.

I agree with you. I'm just saying I got the feeling that he spent ALL of his time last Summer doing this, w/o working out and working on his bball. It seems to be showing.

yeah, u may be right... like i said, i think he's still in his "taking the season off" mode from last season... i guess it's not that easy to flip that switch as you get older.

He definately doesn't seem like he's playing with the same quickness and elevation at the rack, as previous years. For a guy with pretty good range, his jumper has also been non-existant.

how about this assessment: Part of Marb's game is drive and dish but Curry and Frye (but mostly Curry) have no clue about spacing and moving without the ball to be in a position to help Marb when he gets near the basket.

Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years.
First Leon move I hate

There's a reason he didn't practice much in Phoenix or here (at least until LB came), so what is it? Is he a lazy prince, or does he have chronic leg pain. I don't know, a good bit of both I presume, but neither bode well for the team or his game.

I'm still holding out that Miami or someone gets desperate for a scorer/PG by the deadline. Jwill only has one year left on his deal right? (him, doleac and a pick maybe??) LOL

MArbury isn't the same player he use to be as McGrady said he has lost two or three steps I think MArbury is in the same boat. He isn't as explosive as he use to be or atleast since he became a KNick in his first season. Marbury use to have some very good games when he first became a kNick anyone remember his 40+ 17 assist game.
Right now he is really fallen from those days.

How could you say that he is overrated when everybody says he sucks? You just said that he is an average player, does that means that you are overrating him?
