Hi first time posting here. Thank God I found people to be miserable with.

From today's Post:

When asked if the Marbury-Francis backcourt will remain intact, Thomas said, "Um," then paused before saying, "Yeah.

That sounds pretty decisive to me. What happens if IT realizes his best shot at saving his job/arse is to give crunch time to Nate and Jamal. Essentially he would be saying "About the whole Marbury/Francis thing: looks like I was wrong. Mah bad."

What's to be done then for the combine 24 years and 8 bazillion dollars left on their contracts? Do we:

a) Send them home a la the Nets and Tim Thomas to avoid them being locker room cancers? I believe they would be taking up valuable roster spots though...

b) Have them sulk on the bench and create a really uneasy atmosphere in the locker room.

c) Play Francis and Marbury 40 minutes a game and hope that the team gels around them?

d) ___________________________ You fill in the blank.

That might be a bit controversial. Perhaps I can be addressed as GSTK or "hey idiot" ?

Btw you're supposed to choose an answer.

What did the Nets do with Tim Thomas? I missed that.

Trade Francis for Eddie Jones. Trade Marbury anywhere.

1. There have to be better options than Eddie Jones. I like Eddie Jones but dude is old. Our bench could use a guy who can shoot like him and not moan about minutes but we have to be able to get something better for Francis. Then again the best the Orlando Magic could do was Ariza and Penny Hardaway's huge expiring contract

2. I'd trade Francis back to Orland for Ariza and Penny's contract in a heartbeat

3. Tim Thomas. I meant the Bulls. I believe what they did was when they got him in the Curry trade they basically just told him to stay home and collect his checks. I guess they felt his potential negatives outweighed any contributions he could make basketball-wise and they'd rather play their young guys.

4. Speaking of Tim Thomas. He is the poster child for waste talent. We all saw what he could do during that Lakers-Suns series especially. Where the crap was that in New York?

look at what francis was traded for: penny and ariza.
and he looks worse now than ever. his stock has dropped.
what could we possibly get in return for him?

francis or marbury to houston for jwill + posey.

Maybe it's too early in the season to write off Franbury as a total loss?

Let's give them a shot till the All Star Break?

you mean miami. i just don't see riley pulling an isiah and putting marbury and walker on the same team, and also trying to make marbury and wade work.

your right that team needs an influx of energy, but would marbury be that? the last thing they need is a moper.

Edit: now i see you said francis or marbury, but the same feelings apply. i don't seem riley wanting either in the starting lineup.

Not that I think Isiah even thinks of doing that, but you never know, especially with Riley. We all thought it was kinda odd how they took on Antoine Walker. Maybe he feels he could use another scorer from the perimeter who can take it to the hoop like a bull. Bla

All-Star break is too far off. I say we give them till Jan. But, yes sir, I agree with that sentiment.

I think Francis is the most tradeable. I would move him for any expiring contract. If we can get a pick back great, but I'm not holding my breath. This is just about moving in a different direction. I would prefer Francis to Marbury but I believe Marbury has zero trade value

I would play Marbs, Steve, and Curry of the bench and start Lee, Craf, and Nate (later jeffries at SF and Q as SG, Nate back to the bench). And publickly challenge Marbs, Steve, and Curry to prove with their game who they claim they are.
Just will put all in their own hands. If they will performe they are back to start.
I think its fair and sane...

Francis makes MUCH less than Marbury so you're definitely right in that department, but I think the bigger thing is that they still have the same length on their contracts. But regardless, I'd give either of them up for a plain and simple expiring contract, and if that did happen, I'd have a UK celebration right in my own house.

I think Briggs is right though. Buy Marbury out.

Francis is still fairly young and athletic. I think a team would look at him think he could be salvaged.

One that jumps out at me is Seattle. Possibly for Fortson (expiring) and Earl Watson. You can then move Watson pretty easily IMO for another (smaller) expiring deal and possibly a late pick.

Houston could really use Watson, and JVG would love the gritty PG off the bench, and would probably give us their #1 to swap Sura (2 years $7mm left) for Watson.

That wont happen as long as Marbs step-dad is strolling the sidelines. It starts at the top. First dad (isiah) has to leave home (msg) or get kicked out, before the disgruntled son (marb) is shown the door.

I like the idea of moving Francis to Memphis for Eddie Jones expiring contract BTW. Just to clear up some of the backcourt clutter.

how about Francis or Marbury + cash to ATL for Claxton, Wright & a future protected pick? nothing else i can think of that's even remotely realistic... at least ATL could use 1 of those guys on that team, & either one would actually be a good fit playing alongside Joe Johnson in their backcourt... i think the Hawks have the cap space to make a deal where they're taking back extra salary is doable... u might have to take the draft pick out of the equation, but for the cap relief i would still do it if i were the Knicks.

Francis for Eddie Jones would be awesome, but that's alot of longterm salary for the Griz to take back... i don't see Jerry West doing it.

I think the only GM with enough optimism to take Marbury or Francis is working for the Knicks...
