As Stephon and parters leave to enjoy the fruits of defensive hard work and potentially turn the boos to throaty cheers i The Garden, what would a three game win streak mean to the psyche of the team?

Tomorrow night in the Garden will djsu stand and cheer again?

I think the team believe in themselves already. It's whether the so called "Real Knick Fan" picks up on it. Patience, that's all IT asked for. The media has an ax to grind with IT and some people fall right into it also. Give the team a minute. They are very talented and are getting it together. The last two wins showed IT's philosphy works. Ball movement, everybody touching the ball, looking for each other. It's good basketball. Let's enjoy it.

I hope Knicks can start a streak, but keep in mind, Boston was/is in a similar situation as Ny. They got off to a bad start, but have won their last 2.

Plus, Boston has a lot of youth and no way do they play as flat as the Heat looked tonite. Knicks have some nice wins on the road, now if they can take care of business at home, they could get a streak going. tons of home games in December.

We cannot lose to the Celtics. We can't.

Beating the good teams are bonuses but we're supposed to beat the bad ones.

I feel the same way in my fan-heart, but a loss or a win should not make us too crazy. These guys are still learning, we can see it happening (Unlike last year, hmm. strange that it isn't taking 82 games, what kind of voodoo is this!?)!

But they will still take some lumps.

F!ck the sh!tting Celtics!

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

We are the bad team. Bad GM and worse Coach. If the Knicks win, it's only by divine intervention. The ball movement you see on offense and the defense you being played is an illusion. Stop smoking dope...all this being said tongue in cheek...

Or is this the weekend the faint of heart will instantly jump ship if the Knicks lose to the Celtics?

Win or lose, I want to see the Knicks show the same energy and unselfishness and most of all, I want them yo play the same tight defense - particularly on Pierce, West and Wally. If they keep playing the way they have, the wins will come - but not every night.

I would be shocked and amazed if the Knicks play D the way they have the past couple games. If they can keep it up who knows how far they can go. That being said, I doubt it will be consistant.

Good win
We get 4 wins so far - all from teams with key players out.
Next step is to win at least one game from team in full strengths.
We have a good opportunity to start it at home with not very good team but with full personnel and on the winning stick
We need to show that we are ourselves in charge of our destiny.

izybx - the only constant is that people will always find something to be afraid of. The effort has been there all season long and the players are just staring to get a feel for each other

there will be ship jumpers if we lose. I really wish we had Jefferies tonight to guard Pierce. QRich is gonna have to play some serious D and someone is gonna have to stay on Wally.

Of course I hope so Earl, but like tomverve suggested in the "Isiah swan song" thread, we probably want to be careful of getting too excited with the last two wins. As someone who DEEPLY wants to believe that this team can start to turn things around it is important for us to not get too disappointed with a loss tonight or other signs of inconsistency.

I think we need to maintain a balanced perspective on the development of the Knicks as a TEAM. It is nice to see signs of life in this regard, but with so many players trying to find their roles, and with the fact that at some point Jefferies return may disrupt, and at the same time help later, the teams ability to feel like a team with consistent understanding of roles then we at least put ourselves in a position to not feel so defeated when things don't seem to go as well as we hope.

Development of TEAMS takes time, as I know you and others believe. As a former teacher I know that I saw students who struggled suddenly perform fantasticly, and then later go back to struggling. However, the next year as they learned a bit more about how to function as a good student, using what worked best for them, and build confidence; as a class we learned how to compliment each other and they became less likely to struggle. Of course, some had more success than others, but I think a similar philosophical approach is worth taking when looking at this generally young team. Sure, other teams in the NBA are young too and either do well, or poorly, but I'd like to see us give these guys a reasonable time frame to prove to us that they can show improvement.

Holding the past sins of the Knicks as an organization as well as other possible mistakes made by Isiah against them -- while understandable considering years of failure -- seems unfair to the current squad who does seem to show signs of interest in working together on winning.

this is a no excuse game. If we come out with the same energy/intensity and eat up the Celtics as our homers think we should hopefully we are on to something.

Its all about defense and our starting unit of creampuffs playing tough.
