One of the main problems in America is we've individualized the sport to such an extent that we really only cover it from an individualistic standpoint.

"Which, consequently, confuses our young players and confuses some players in the league as to, what does it really mean to be a teammate? And what does it really mean to play as one and win as a unit?

"Where overseas, they don't have that problem, because they don't individualize their players as we do here."

interestingly he doesn't draft that kind of player but he keeps trading for them.

Marv - or maybe its the other way around

personally, I look forward to see how jared jeffries fits the new uptempo equation and meshes on defense with Lee and Balkman

The beauty of Holzman's Knicks was the unselfishness. Unless Clyde decided it was time to take over, the team - more than anything - was balanced.

Give me six guys ( or even seven) in double figures every night

23 -25 assists

hit the open man

I do not have a problem with isiah bringing in players to fill a need until the youngin's reach their potential.

MoT, MRose, Starbury and Francis are all stop gap solutions while the true rebuilding is coming along (6 draft choices, crawford/curry and Jeffries).

The key, I think earl hit on this, is marbury blending until it's time to take over...he's succeeded once (hitting game tying shot) and failed once (missing against the spurs) but the last game has me believing he is finding his place in the flow of the game.

What to do about francis?

Still bitter he's not remembered in the pantheon of Bird, Magic and Jordan.

I would love a GM that focused on building a team with those kind of players. Maybe the next guy right?

currently we only have 4 or 5. while nate is a great player, his motto:"there is no I in team, but there is an M and E"

So, no dice there, but you can't go princeton all the way and expect to win, ginobli and wade and shaq and parker all have a little "i'm the best" in them and you need the delicate balance.

Lebron is even individually presented.

Curry and Crawford are the centerpieces of the rebuilding Me components. and the draft picks are the fillers.

Isiah should only be allowed to control the draft... trades & FA signings should be taken on by someone else who knows how to get good value for the money spent.

I could see Isiah staying on as coach and a GM coming in to handle deals.

That way zeke could still provide input on scouting and the draft and (hopefully) they are playing at a higher level.

(My Cousin Vinny)

Lisa: "Like you blend..."

babyknicks - the roles of the current Knicks are shifting right before our disbelievein' eyes. Marbury subjugates the desire to play like Starbury and beomes just another spoke in the wheel. Balkman shows the ability to be everywhere at once.

Even the NYTimes recognizes that David Lee for Nazr Mohammed may not have sucked that bad after all.

The extent to which this yoot-dominated roster coheres as a confident team will be fun to watch.

right... so lets get a GM that understands building a team around YOOTs that play hard since that obivously works a 1000 times better than overpaying for cast of veterans who have been losers (winners in life) in the NBA.

Hows that sound? Like fun right?

I have throw many out there...

Moving Crawford to LA for a Mihm (expiring deal) and a pick
Moving Q to Denver for Reggie Evans and pick(s)
Moving Curry/Francis to Phili for Webber and a pick
I even suggested trading Frye but thats ONLY if this franchise is commited to Curry as the center for the next couple of years. If you are going to do that do it right. Otherwise I much prefer moving Frye to his natural center position and Curry out of here.

Focus on getting rid of the older veteran creampuffs that coast. Bring in young guys that play hard like Balkman and Lee. If we suck we suck. Keep drafting and in a couple of years we have a roster of young guys that play hard and $20mm in cap space.

Cheer on the YOOTs.

The half filled Garden was pretty excited but the play of the young guys. Sorry, but we dont need Marbury to sell jerseys. Nate can do that just fine.
