The theme is Jamal giveth, jamal taketh away, and jamal finally giveth!!!

What a win and what a way to win on that bullshyt from jamal, but hell I will take it....

despite the refs giving it to us in the arse, we still win...

The keys:
Again we let a team get up on us big, by not boxing out, following shooters and helping on defense, but again we got a spark from lee and especially balkman on defense and lets include frye who was contesting and blocking shots, but balkman was great, he made melo work for some shots, had some nice blocks and was all over the place, I think that gave us some energy along with the solid play from lee who continues to impress, Then Jamal got hot for a while and we were able to hang in there just down 8 at half..

Second half the refs were killing us, after they handicapped curry with bullcrap fouls early they continued to do so later in the game, but we somehow hung in there and we did with some defense by Q along with his steady offense and rebounding, and just some outstanding shots by crawford, he was just a beast..

Also I wanto to give it to marbs who hit that big 3, after chasing down a lose ball, after missing that layup to put us up he stepped up and banged down that big 3. Kudos for marbs..

Nate is just solid, he is becomming more consistent and tonight he was solid again..

another key was good ball movement, at one point we really moved the ball well for some nice shots, we just need to be more consistent, but on defense we must box out, I know denver was over the back all night and it wasn't called, but we have to do better, and we must play smarter, there was a time curry didn't touch the ball 4 trips down the court with najera on him... that can't happen..

good win, wild finish, but again these nuggets are not the spurs, they are not really that good if you ask me, and thanks to JR smith's horrid defense craw was able to carry us...

Another key was coaching, IT coached us better tonight even calling plays to settle the team down, I think that helped us through the funks we had in the game, he also adjusted his lineups well in the second half. Good job IT..

Nice win....

2-3

jamal was setting the play up that way- the same way he tosses off a backboard.

appear to turn it over, but really, he was looking to get denver thinking they were on offense.

take the ball back

Thing about Craw that drives me crazy is games like today. In the fourth we kepr running the same iso/pick and roll play with him pulling up or taking it to the hole. When we were doing this it was so easy for him to get a good shot off.

Why isnt he doing this all the time? Why cant he settle for easy, wide open 17-18 footers?

It was UGLY, but in terms of Isiah wanting to see more effort and desire, the team did give that. For one thing you could visibly see that guys where winded. I've never seen Lee huffing and puffing like that. Nate at one point came over to the bench looking like he had nothing.

The offense is still horrid, but at least they were fighting for rebounds and defending. I still maintain that this team will eventually get better. There's so much ability on this team and we just have to keep fighting thru these early problems. MANY fans think this team is headed for a repeat of last year, but I don't think the environment exists for this team to collapse like that. They're trying to fight thru their poor play and if they keep that mental attitude that they WANT to improve then they will.

If there's one thing i'll give Isiah is that he still has the ear of the players and they seem to still be trying to get better and do what he's asking. It's a LONG way to go, but they seem to have more fight in them this year. Even in the losses they keep trying to come back. They aren't ending in 30 pt blowouts like last year.

It was an UGLY but GOOD WIN :)

That baffles me about Jamal as well. I don't know why today all of the sudden he decides to take short jumpers over the gunning he does, but I'm glad he did. If he could just play like this all the time...

If only Isiah had had the discipline to draft Balkman at 29, he would be thought of as a genius.

The extra huffing and puffing is from the altitude in the mile-high city.

Hopefully the haters will stop hating for one day.

Again, good review. I only caught the 2nd half and everyone who played, played well, iMO. Curry gets called for the cheapest fouls!! How has he gotten that reputation? He must work to change it.

Crawford had his stroke going. Marbury was steady. I think Francis saw his starting role go down in flames, as it should.

What curry needs to work on is his face up game.

Develop a short two handed jumpshot that doesn't require him to barrel over defenders.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

playa, I don't think he has the touch to have an effective jumper - even at short range. Take a look at his foul shooting to get an idea of what he does facing the basket.

Strangely, he does and we have seen it early in the season. When he shoots the faceup jumper, it looks nice and he has been able to hit it.

It was a great game from an entertain standpoint, but our team defense was horrendous once again and the turnovers are what got us in a hole in the first place. IT did a good job coaching yesterday and I think he is getting a feel for who can play together and who can't. Frye was bad again, but not as bad as he had been in the first 4 games, so that is at least something. Marbury is playing steady, but he can and needs to do more. He is not really leading the team as much as just passively guiding it out there. He needs to realize that he is the best ball-handler we have and needs to take control of the offense and make sure everyone, especially Curry, gets his shots. When Nate, Lee, and Balkman, come in, the team looks like it can beat anyone. This is a great win for the team. Crawford had an awesome game, but he still needs to work on playing under control. 2-3 with four road games is a decent start for any team. All this team needs is confidence, which will come with winning. It is clear that the team has the talent to beat most teams in the league. We just need the experience and heady play that has been missing.

I'd add to that we need consistent effort. We can't take breaks when it comes to effort. We play hard for four quarters like we did the last 3 1/2 last night and we will contend for a playoff spot. If we blame the crowd and the coach and don't try hard we will continue to lose and be boo'd.
I just hope that people will like me

the entire reason why i love this game was summed up in that 1 sequence when Jamal committed that bad TO, then chased down Najera & stole the pass, then heaved up an ill-advised 3 & then hit it... no other sport can give u that kind of emotional roller coaster ride of emotions in so short a span.

man, i love that kid Jamal... he's just fearless, & when he gets it going, there's no one in the NBA that can stop him... yeah, he makes u want to tear ur hair out at the roots sometimes, but man, it's a beautiful thing when he's on his game.

what I like about what jamal did is that he used his head. When najera got that ball, he sensed that najera would try to make the long pass, and he just stuffed him, never gave up on the play. I also like the way Q played, the guy plays with emotion, didn't back down from carmello.... Balkman is a hell of a athlete and that block on the break was sick..... Our bench may save this season.

Q is a tough sumbitch, i totally agree... i've always loved that guy & the way he plays the game, even last season when his shot wasn't falling... & word up on Balkman... that kid is gonna be a big difference maker for this team... not putting up monster offensive #'s, but just in doing the little things that make such a difference in whether you win or lose games.

1. Maybe you should watch him in shootarounds. His J is water.
2. Correct me if Im' wrong, but didnt someone post a scouting report on him when he was in highschool that alluded to his good outside shot, including 3 pt range?
