He does suck man... Last night he played his ass off tho... He played the best game i've ever seen him play by far... did you see those up and under moves? those passes?? He has tried to do all that stuff before but he always fails MISERABLY.... He knows how to defend Duncan so that also helped... He gets the respect for ONE GAME but he has a whole lot of work to do to make up for all the damage he did last year

I don't agree with this. I think you will see Malik play more with JJSkinny out. There is no one on the Knicks who knows where to be on D (maybe Q is an exception) and Rose directs traffic. Malik tries and over does it on the O end, but that is because the Knicks don't have a PG who knows how to run a team a go away from him.

yeah posting him up during the run was terrible, almost as bad as having crawford in the game instead of Q.

But malik is def needed and probably should be ahead of frye when we are talking about pf right now, we need defense badly...

Rose is earning PT. He uses his brain on both ends and always brings it.

Rose is definitely guilty of thinking he's a lot better than he is offensively. He should stick to short range jumpers and put backs and not think he's a post threat. He still has some use defensively and on the boards, he proved that last night.

Im not against giving Malik some more time based on the last game but.. He has to keep it up, He cant start blowing layups and throwing the ball off of his own foot every other possesion.. Posting up and spin moving into the NY POST Photographer on the sideline...

Cant have that!

Agreed that you have to limit Malik on the O end of things... but Marb and Fran control or should control the offense and get the ball to Curry or Frye in the post at all times.

i thought Malik Rose was the MVP of the game tonight, even though they lost... his defense on Duncan really propelled the come back when the Knicks made their run.

but what the hell do i know.

Sean Elliot was laughing at Malik rocking Duncan. They are all 3 great friends.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Rose has some heart, and is a veteran from a team that knows how to win. So I think he's a good asset to this team because he has some leader ship in the locker room. I think he is a guy who will play really hard and leave it all on the court. I dont think he should start, but I think he deserves some more playing time off the bench. For now I think Crawford should start at SG, and either Marbury or Francis at PG (I prefer Francis), Q-rich at SF, and David Lee at PF. Make Rose come off the bench as a back up PF, and give Frye some time as a back up SF, since he apprently plays like one and doesn't play like a PF.

When Jefferies comes back, start him at SF, Q-rich at SG, and make Crawford come off bench.

If somebody think that NBA team can have success without playing defense they are DELUSIONAL
Even great offense can give you 50% of scoring on average at best.
And if team cannot back it up by defense the chances of willing are 25% at best (about 20 games)
Malik, Mardy, Balkman, Q are not as great on defense as they look comparing to marbs, Craf, Curry, Fry and our other defensive 0-s. This is nothing else as laziness, stupidity, and ignorance to the fundamentals of the game that can explain that players with 6-10 years NBA experience cannot defend and even cannot give any effort on defensive end.
No matter how talented they are they are useless for team success. If they score same points that allow their man - they are 0.
When they off on offence - they are huge -.
I more and more can understand why LB was pushing for dumping these zero/minus players. No-brainer

Malik do damage last season? He was one of the few Knicks who was consistently giving his best effort. If he was 6'8", 6'9", he would possibly be a star, b/c the dude has some skills. However, he is 6'4"ish so that's all mute. I've defended the guy for quite a long time b/c he's really someone the youngins can just look up to, and he's a leader by example. We don't really have any of those, besides maybe Quentin, at this point.

Last night, Malik played above his head and definitely was the MVP, and may have even earned himself a chance for nice PT against Denver. Yet with this entire post being said, he still has plenty of limitations because he is 6'4" and not Charles Barkely/Larry Johnson. There's no way he should be a guy we lean on. It's even amazing it's came down to that last night. Goes to show how poor everyone else have been on defense.

It wasn't the fact that Malik Rose did damage. It was the fact that we were forced to rely on him. Yes, he gets blocked a lot, but if nobody is playing defense and you have one guy who scks but bust his ass, it's a tough decision. So who is Larry Brown gonna go with?
A) The rookies who can't play any defense?

B) Lazy Mo T and/or Jerome James?

C) The crappy Malik Rose who at least busts his ars.

Tough choice and it's hard for me to blame Malik on last season.

the premise of this post was the reality that malik rose was not/is not part of the plan here OR wasnt supposd to be in ANYWAY. He just happened to show up last night and do some things that help win ballgames. the problem is, we have NO frikin plan. its game to game play to play.

Malik played great yesterday but the fact still remains that the knicks have to get a player that can score and rebound effectively.

In other words the knicks need to get a player that is better than malik, lee and frye. Frye should be the clear starter just like he was last season, but I think he is the one that is destroying the knicks right now. Frye is supposed to be the 4 and back up 5 option. He is not. Right now I don't even care if he will improve cuz the knicks need to improve now.

Again malik was good tonight and may be good in other situations, lee is definately good more times than none. But the knicks need a guy that could get almost 20 and 10 ahead of them and keep their minutes down.

Zach Randolph is on a team that is cheap and on a youth movement. Frye probably would fit them better and zach would definately solidify our front court.
