It's gonna take time. This team will eventually get it. I know that's hard for most fans to believe in.

Tonight was a loss, but a win in terms of learning some things about this team. I think we just need to take a minute to reflect on what we DID find out about the team tonight. Isiah has at least learned what kind of fight he has in this team and particularly the bench. We already knew that he had some defenders on the bench. He now has to figure out ways to make use of that defensive ability.

I like that he kept those players on the floor after halftime. The starters actually played better after that. Then Isiah was able to mix in those defensive players and it was a better mix. I STILL think that we haven't seen the best of this team yet and that it will eventually get better and be able to win games. We just have to stick with it and keep fighting thru these early problems. This team is learning the hard way that it has to defend better and especially with the offense not clicking so far.

It looks like Steph started to snap out of it late in the 2nd half and if we keep fighting thru this I think Jamal and Frye will eventually do the same and this team will be alright. I've said it before and i'll keep saying it, we need PATIENCE!!! Nothing will be gained by making a rush to judgement with this team. The one thing we haven't had is any consistency and i'd like to see this team play thru this. Play in this system for more than a few pre & regular season games. I think that this team will be able to compete once they start to play the right way from the very start of the game all the way to the end. We haven't seen that yet. Clearly this team can play better and there's a LOT of season left to play.

[whistle]
Shed a tear 'cause I'm missin' you
I'm still alright to smile
Girl, I think about you every day now
Was a time when I wasn't sure
But you set my mind at ease
There is no doubt
You're in my heart now

Said, woman, take it slow
It'll work itself out fine
All we need is just a little patience
Said, sugar, make it slow
And we come together fine
All we need is just a little patience
(patience)
Mm, yeah

I sit here on the stairs
'Cause I'd rather be alone
If I can't have you right now
I'll wait, dear
Sometimes I get so tense
But I can't speed up the time
But you know, love
There's one more thing to consider

Said, woman, take it slow
And things will be just fine
You and I'll just use a little patience
Said, sugar, take the time
'Cause the lights are shining bright
You and I've got what it takes
To make it, We won't fake it,
I'll never break it
'cause I can't take it

[whistle]
...little patience, mm yeah, mm yeah
need a little patience, yeah
just a little patience, yeah
some more patience, yeah
need some patience, yeah
could use some patience, yeah
gotta have some patience, yeah
all it takes is patience,
just a little patience
is all you need *

I BEEN WALKIN' THE STREETS AT NIGHT
JUST TRYIN' TO GET IT RIGHT
HARD TO SEE WITH SO MANY AROUND
YOU KNOW I DON'T LIKE
BEING STUCK IN THE CROWD
AND THE STREETS DON'T CHANGE
BUT BABY THE NAME
I AIN'T GOT TIME FOR THE GAME
'CAUSE I NEED YOU
YEAH, YEAH, BUT I NEED YOU
OO, I NEED YOU
WHOA, I NEED YOU
OO, ALL THIS TIME **

I don't know man, we're already so deep into the season. You know what they say-- you see 4 games, you've seen all 82.

Guys were saying the same thing last year. Hell, I remember saying it. "Just be patient." We all know how that turned out.

While I'm not ready to give up on the season I can understand why some are so negative after five years of sucky Knicks basketball.

I hate being "negative" but I've seen enough sh!t from this team the last 6-7 years to know what sh!t looks like and TRUST ME, this looks like sh!t

we are with Marbury and Crawford. I was interested to see what Marbury could do when he got here, when he was 27. he's going to be 30 soon and we've regressed. the best lineup Marbury ever played with here was probably Kurt Thomas/Dikembe Mutombo/Allan Houston/KVH. its over. the Marbury era was a disaster and none of the kids are good enough to do it by themselves.

Five years, six years, seven years...

2nd season with the Knicks for Curry, Frye, Lee, Nate, Q. First without Larry Brown. Curry, Nate and Q already look a lot better. Frye is struggling, but I don't think it's completely uncommon or unprecedented for a player to struggle for a few games in a row.

"Just be patient" doesn't necessarily mean "just wait and see, we'll get way better." But it does mean that 4 games is way too small a set of games to justify the kind of reactions we're already seeing. If the Knicks still look this bad 20 games in, then you have something to complain about.

4 games is 4 games. I mean, in a crappy, disasterous 23 win season we still had a winning streak longer than the entire current season to date. Keep things in perspective.

There's a difference. For one thing I think that we honestly have some players who are in a bit of early slump. I think we didn't expect that Frye would be this bad, Jamal would be this bad and Steph would be this bad. However, I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. This was a GREAT teaching experience, cuz the Spurs are a machine and trying to defend them is hard a heck. The knicks started to see that it can be done tho. That's going to be some GREAT film for them to study. The lessons in effort level and smart play. They can see how smart the Spurs played as well.

These games against the Pacers and Spurs are two teams that have been thru the wars and they know exactly what to do. We haven't been thru anything yet and this team has to jell. Eventually this team is gonna adjust to this level of play and I think these early tough games will prove to be a GOOD thing for this team. They aren't just quitting and getting blown out. They at least are fighting and getting back into the games, but they don't know how to close yet. The thing is that the team is FIGHTING BACK.

There are some positive developments that we didn't have last year.

1. Curry seems to be much better this year. If Steph and Francis would pass him the ball he'd be even better
2. We have a good defender in reserve, in Jared and some good defenders on the bench. Isiah just has to learn how to best work them into his rotations.
3. The offense has been terrible, but as guys like Steph and Jamal start to snap out of it, that will only help this team as we move along. I think Steph and Jamal have been too passive. Nate has the right idea and I think the film will show them that.
4. Q, Lee and Balkman have shown a lot so far and I think they'll only get better as they get more comfortable. Collins actually impressed and that was a good sign. He wasn't scared and did what we brought him here to do. Defend and not turn the ball over

I know the loss is tough, but these are some underlying good signs.

Sorry, I turned the game off. Watched Orlando and Washington.

Good game, lots of excited fans in Orlando. Reezy was in street clothes as well as Reddick.

Turned the knick game on and it was just dreadful. Just turning back on to the game was a bummer.

Nix, I know you mean well, but denial is another thing.

This is suppose to be fun to watch, root for. Its my entertainment dollar.

Im sorry I got my Seasons pass.

Im starting to rebuild my home theater and think this will be my winter hobby.

This team gotta show me something one of these days.

"you gotta believe" is like begging right now. Rooting for a team should have its ups and downs, and this just ain't happening for me anymore.

I felt bad for those in the garden tonite. all that money being spend to watch a bad show. Looking at marbury makes me sick, and special nates just annoying now. The kid has talent, but dam that jumping jack on speed just gets old.

Jesus, I'm the one who wanted Jared Jeffries here so bad and I'm starting to get sick of hearing about how different things will be when he comes back. He's not Jesus Christ!

the team is going where Marbury and Crawford "lead" it. we should all know where that is by now.

This just sounds like you lack any sense of perspective when it comes to this team. For one thing it's FOUR GAMES! A four game sample at any point in the season is too small to make any kind of serious judgements. All we can do is wait and see how this team develops over the next 16 games or so. Then take stock of were they are, but even then you have to go another 20 games and take stock etc. The season is just too long to take a defeatist attitude. I've been watching sports for so long now that I really don't give up on seasons just because they start off bad.

I'm here to tell you that i'm not just wishing that they'll play better. I'm CONFIDENT that they WILL play better this year. You can see that when this team plays aggressively that they are much better, but they lack consistency right now. That won't always be the case this season. If LB had stuck with something for a while this team would've shown some growth and I expect that Isiah will try to do that with this team. I'm not positive that he'll be patient forever with Frye, but I do hope that he has a long rope with these players cuz they need to fight thru this.

if only there was some super-stat site where I could look up teams that have lost three of their first four games by double digits and have had more turnovers than assists in three of those four games and gone on to "turn it around". I'm pretty sure the answer would be "0," but it'd be nice to really be sure.

Most teams get better as the season goes on, so we have to not only get better, but get better at getting better than the competition.
