we won 23 games last year--if this cat is the next dennis rodman/ron artest why isnt he PLUGGED in for 24 minutes? hes not an 18 year old cat we won 23 games last year with the SAME players drafted players MUST play and they BETTER be worthy when inserted.

Fair point. But, let's try to assess this 30 games into the season & not 3. For example, I know you are high on Jackie B. I'm not going to dismiss that notion b/c the dude has been benched so far this season.

Briggs you are absolutely right. I like Balkman, I think he's a very nice energy guy who can bang, can grab rebounds, and provide a spark. The fact is, is that Marcus Williams is exactly what this team needs and thats a PG who can play in both the half-court offense and in the up-tempo offense. When your coming off a 23win season, you aren't afforded the luxury of pick players based on need, you MUST and I repeat MUST, pick the best player available.

We missed out on Marcus Williams and now everyone who told us to quit bitching and moaning about not drafting Marcus is watching Marbury stink up the court and that he could be showing signs of mileage, it is more and more evident that it was a HUGE mistake by Isiah Thomas.

post has nothing to do with mw--it has to do with balkman--they purport how good he is let him play 24-28 minutes.

"I wanted both of these players," Thomas said from the MSG Training Center in Greenburgh. "Going into the draft we wanted to get defenders. Balkman is a very unique talent. He reminds me a lot of a (Dennis) Rodman and (Ron) Artest with his energy and with his defensive ability.

Does anyone think Mardy Collins will ever play in a game as a Knick as long as there's no injury, let alone start one day for this team...

if Marcus Williams is the next Magic Johnson why is he averaging only 5.5 & 2.5 in 19 mpg?

i thought it was agreed that we need to give this a little more time before we rush to conclusions about who Isiah should have drafted? 3 games into the season & already Balkman's a bust in some of your eyes? unreal.

You think after Isiah blasted his critics over the choice Balk would get more than 5 mins a game....especially with JJ2 injured. Imagine what his mins will be like when Jeffries returns.

this is silly, but if you compared per 48 minute stats, Balkman would be putting up 12 points & 21 rebounds compared to Marcus Williams 13.5 points & 13.5 rebounds & 6 assists... LOL.

this post is about getting balkman on the floor to see what he has. I dont have to look at stats to know which player is far superior---guys like you do because you dont have a clue about what the heck you are talking about otherwise. and it has nothing to do with the post.

I'd love to see more Balkman. I think he's looked pretty good for the few minutes he's been out there. There have been times when we could've used a rebounder or a player with defensive energy (okay many times) when Isiah didn't put him out there. I think he's still getting a feel for the rotations.

He's flattering his own player. It's smart.

don't know what the hell is up your arse today when all i said was we had to wait on judging these players before pronouncing them as busts... the problem with guys like you is that you think you know everything there is to know & always feel the need to shove the fact into everyone's faces everytime you get a chance w/that added condescension that you've been able to perfect through the years... BRIGGS, instead of wasting time posting on a messsage board, why don't u quit your day job & go apply for 1 of these GM jobs Mr. Internet hoops wiz.

btw, aren't u the same genius that called Al Harrington a waste last season? well that 'waste' torched us for 30+ the other night... you're also the same genius that proclaimed Mike Sweetney the second coming... for a guy who loves to proclaim himself right every time he makes a correct call on a player coming out of the draft or in trade discussions, i can't remember a single time you've ever admitted to being wrong... i guess we can't all be as all-knowing & knowledgeable as you the Andrew Bynum-Marcus Williams touting BRIGGS master... sorry if i don't break my back kissing your butt like you're used to around here.

I think everyone here wants to see more balk. Less Frye, Bury and Fran.

Balkman looks like he can actually help us out a little bit right now. We should find him some more minutes.

But yeah, I'm not going to even bother bringing up the Marcus vs. Balkman thing since everything has pretty much been said already.
