If this guy is supposed to be so good (rated the 5th best center in the NBA by some site), why has he yet to play a minute this season? Wasnt this project ready to take off this season?

Butler was a project.

They have Umberto, Ellison and Horry for their frontcourt, jackie is raw and doesn't play d, which is what they are teaching him now. He is a future prospect with a high reward at little cost, which is why the knicks should have kept him around.

it's weird how our former up and coming all-stars Ariza, Sweetney, Butler can't get minutes on real teams. I think there was a Frank Williams sighting in Greece the other day, not necessarily on a basketball court. Makes you wonder where Frye, Lee and Nate will be in a few years.

I made the comparison loooooooong before the Knicks ever drafted him and I'll say it again.... anyone remember Loren Woods? If you wanna know where Frye will be in a few years, look and see where Woods is now.

Frye is overcoming surgery. He is not Loren Woods. Woods has major character flaws and had conflicts with his team, and did not have the talent to be a lottery pick. Frye is not back yet from surgery. Maybe he shouldn't be starting but he is no Loren Woods. That is like an nbadraft.net comparison because they look similar.

what surgery? he got a hyper extended knee 8 or 9 months ago.

Butler was with Brown for a year. Why was he not in shape and why didnt he learn last year what it takes to compete? To me this is a dig /or should be a dig at Brown.
