Dwayne Wade --he is a 6-5 combination of Vince Carter and Jason Kidd. This kid is the best all around player in the last 5 years. Thats why I say it is imperative that the Knicks work HARD work dilligently and do what it takes to secure one more high pick when the time comes.

IMHO if we make the following moves

We will be in position to get a very high pick perhaps Lebron because we are truly a top3 candidate for the worst team in the league. What we have to work on next is securing a second high draft choice-I believe we can do it by going through Golden state. We may have to end up taking Danny fFrtson of their hands but so what if we get get a pick high enough to make it matter.

IF the Knicks walked away with Chris Bosh Dwayne Wade at the top/ and one of the following in the middle George Leach and or Darius Rice out of the draft we would be set for 12 years.

Assets we will own 1 very high pick

we must use Kurt Thomas and or trade with a team in a salary cap bind who may want to keep its team intact i.e Golden state trade for their pick and trade them an ending contract like Charlie Ward who has a 2mm dollar buyout for Fortson and their pick IF it is top 6. It will take some work but for potential franchise players who can keep this organization in the playoffs and eventually vie again for the title the work has to be done.

I would like to completely reload the team this year. Im very willing to trade both second rounders and a future 1 to get up as high as I can for this year to. This years draft is going to be VERY VERY good--its a good year to have to high picks

Goals for the year

Obtain a second high draft choice and see if you can package both 2nd and a future one to get a third pick.

Trade Thomas and Sprewell--I believe their trade values will be significatly higher than they are now at the end of the season.
Sprewell should be quiet and average 20 while KT just has to keep putting up the same numbers.
try to sign Lamar odom with the mid level exemp

How about this potential lineup

Antonio Mcdyess 6-9 245
Chris Bosh 6-11 225
Lamar Odom 6-10 225
Allan Houston 6-6 210
Dwayne Wade 6-5 215
george leach 6-11 245
Shandon Andersen 6-6 200
Eilsey 6-1 180
harrington 6-8 235

Haha I like you rpost, but I am still dreaming of Lebron. However I understand our odds of getting him are slim to none, just like getting Yao was a crap shoot. But we will have better odds since our team is worse then last year.

He is a 6'4 two guard... and Houston is here forever. Unless we are in a bind with no big men on the board I can't see us taking him. Its Lebron or a big man hopefully!

the Marquette coach said he plays 1-2 depending on the situation--he has a very high assit total and if you have seen him play --I guess the best comparison is that he is a 6-5 dujuan wagner type who is a better passer. His talent level is just so high that you cant pass him up. My hope is we can get two high picks one of our own one through trade and a late 1st and pick up

wade
bosh
leach

if we could pull this off and signed magliore to the mid level

Magliore-6-10 250
Mcdyess 6-9 245
Bosh --6-10 220
Houston 6-6 210
Wade-6-5 215
Sprewell 6th man Harrington 6-8 235
Andersen-6-6 210
Eisley 6-1 180

It's Dwyane Wade by the way, for some strange reason he writes Dwyane but it's pronounced Dwayne, no kidding.

George leach is a true center from Indiana. When I mean true he is 6-11 in bare feet 250 pds and 20 years old. He is probably in the top 5 in the country in terms of rebounding and shot blocking plus he poccess's a nice mid range jumper. He has an EXTREME wingspan and a body that can EASILY hold another 20 pounds. Indiana is very much a guard orienttated system -so he will not put up huge numbers on the offensive end but so far this season he is averaging 10 points 13 rebounds and 3 blocks on 72% from the field in about 28 mts of play. Against Massachusettes he put up 19 16 and 4 and altered many more shots. I think with the lack of centers he will come into the draft and go somewhere in the 8-18 area

By the way Im the same guy who begged the Knicks to take Amare Stoudemire. No one is perfect at judging talent and I dont have the same means as the pros have but 25 years of playing through college and watching pro and college I believe I have a keen eye-just as good as any scout in terms of judging players from college. You can go read the draft websites all you want but I can guarantee you that Wade is the best player[i have not seen lebron james so i cant comment] that I have seen. And one thing that stands out is that he is such a complete player on both ends with excellent athletic ability. The only thing that he doesnt have YET is a real long range game which he needs to develop.Chris Bosh is a player that WILL probably be better than Wade with a little more experience-a freak type player left handed 6-10 mobile with excellent ball handling skills --I said this is the left handed version of KG and when you see him play you will know what I mean. Leach reminds me of an old school type of center but with the lack of them he will be a wanted man with a TON of potential. I like Darius rice to but he is a bit soft and tends to fade in and out of games. But i like 6-10 small forwards who can shoot long and can handle. My particular taste in players are ones that length athletic ability and skill. I dont like 6-7 PF

what the hell do you know... those guys suck. Build through the draft? The Knicks are WIN NOW TEAM. New York would never accept losing seasons to watch a team like the one you propose

not quite... this team won just enough games to end up w/the next Elton Brand that year... seems like my fellow proponents of tanking the season that year to get a legit shot at guys like Lebron, Wade & Bosh may have been on to something afterall.

I am the best GM not currently working for an NBA team:) If the Knicks had just consulted with me and followed through with my plan, they would be great and well-under the their present financial disaster:) And I would not harrass large women in the office;)

Seriously what the heck happened to George Leach. I thought he was a great second round pick. He was very long athletic and active--maybe he was crazy? maybe he was a computer software genius? but geez tohave that body with that athletiscma nd long arms and not make the nba is a darn shame.

I would give Briggs props if he called Wade out in 2001...not AFTER he carried Marqutte, by himself, to the Final Four.

to be honest..as impressed as I was by Wade's performance that final year in College, I never thought he would be the player he is today.

i will admit you were right on Bynam.. I never saw him play before but its plain to see - his POISE as a big man is something special.. Those passes hes been throwing of late are crazy... I still would have probobly taken Frye over him just because of circumstance but you made a good call that he would be great. (which i never doubted actually)

Marcus i always agreed with you will be a great player and was a steal for NJ.... But again due to circumstance i dont think it would have worked if we drafted him unfortunately i think he would have been unhappy.

I will be looking for your college player analasys from now on for sure tho...

What do you think of James White? Should we get him? I just know he can DUNK!
