Curry had a good game overall, but he should have had 25/18. Foul trouble or no, he disappeared down the stretch. The Grizzlies had nobody that could guard him. If he is going to disappear, he might as well just foul out playing assertively.

I want to see Eddie follow through on one of these performances with a great night, not just a good one.

What do you guys think?

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

you're right. he should have had at least 25 points. He was playing against second and third stringers. he needs to get the ball everytime. every play needs to run through him

Dude...he had a great game, a far better game that Larry Brown ever got out of him & far better effort than we've ever seen out of him (i.e. his weakside defense all night). Let's watch & enjoy his development under IT.

I think he had at least one game this good under LB, but that is neither here nor there. It is time to start expecting Curry to finish the job when he starts out dominating. This is what dominant players do. Curry should be fouling out the entire from line of the other team when he has it going like tonight. He needs to demand the ball, and not become a shrinking violet when he has been doing a Paul Bunyan all night.

I am not fine with him disappearing, though I thought he played well overall. That was one of the biggest factor in the Memphis comeback.

Don't you want more purple?

Part of the onus for his dissappearance has to fall on the guards and the coach, Curry should touch the ball far more often, forour sake and for his sake. But its great that he started off strong.

i noticed curry calling for the ball down the stretch, howeversome posessions he was calling for the ball, but he wasnt asserting himself considering the horrible job the refs

I think Curry will demand it & the guards will give it to him at the end of games in this season. Its game 1 so I'm holding out hope that there will be steady improvement in every way including Curry at the end of games and team defense.

Yup. But why is oohah calling out Curry and Craw? Trying to make us forget about Frye? Hey, we all like Frye, but if he had even an average game, we win by 30. He was atrocious. I'm worried about him.

The reason that game was close was Francis and Frye. Everyone else played well for at least some stretch of the game.

I agree. Curry played well. He definitely ran out of gas, playing more minutes than he ever has. However, that's an issue of being in shape and having the stamina. Right now he doesn't, but Frye was so awful last night, that Isiah stuck with Curry. Furthermore, Francis AND Marbury fouling out was poor. Francis and Frye were both awful last night and better step it up, as maybe they didn't get the memo, but the regular season started.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

More than anyting, he rebounded well last nite.

Thats a big stat in my book!

Jason Kidd had 4 offensive and 6 defensive boards last nite!

I like when our center out rebounds guards!

Eddy did good last nite!

He had 5 fouls and was afraid to touch anyone for fear of fouling out. He was playing on egg shells. Isiah probably told him DONT FOUL OUT
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

Am I supposed to talk about just one player? Who did I call out? I did not call anyone out, I just analyzed what I saw.

I am not sure if you are joking or not, but I have no ulterior motives. I have said that Frye was bad. Please don't think that everyone will play well on every night or even most nights. Nights like that are rare. There may even be a game or two wheer frye plays well and say Curry plays badly. They might even oth play well on some nights.

The difference is that Frye was consistently good last year and this was only one game. I still see no reason why that will be turned on its head becuase of one game.

If you are going to dole out blame for the game being close, how does Crawford escape then? He had a god awful shooting night and took some outlandish shots. I don't mind if he misses normal shots. He had a terrible defensive game, worse than anyone, but he had a steal and a block, just like Frye, to make up for blunders that he just made.

I am talking about every player, not just Frye or Curry or etc...

Eddie played like a beast last night. I think if Frye even played respectable last night, Curry would have had more energy for the 3OT and would have ben much better. Wasn't the case though. Kudos to Curry though. I hope he can keep it up!

If curry has a bad game that is one thing. But if he is playing great I want to see him continue to do so in that game. When he does he will be among the best centers in the game.

He did get tired, but our guards just didn't get him the ball. I saw a bunch of times he was in the post calling for it, but the guards were too tentative to make a pass. They need to drill passing into the post. Everything opens up from there.

there's no player in the league that ever SHOULD get 25 & 18 in a game... that would be a phenomenal game for anyone regardless of the team you're playing against.

i thought Curry played very well last night... 17 / 14 / 3 is a huge improvement for him... he could have easily put up more shots if they kept feeding him the ball, i agree, so w/the point totals i can say you have a point, but the rebounds were fine & i can't expect him to maintain the same level of energy throughout the game especially when you're going into a 3rd OT session.

The biggest problem the Knicks have with Curry is their inability to get him the ball in the post and let him do his thing. If they can figure that out, and if Curry can continue to get into shape, watch out.

I don't agree. When you have as many points and rebounds as Curry did early in the game, I think it makes sense for him to add to that, maybe not at the same rate, but not to cease production totally.
