First of all I want to start off with a few things..... The grizzlies do not deserve credit for comming back, that was a gift from the NBA jackass officiating crew, this was just a horrific display of calling offensive foul after offensive foul to help a team that could not defend man to man..... just ugly and this Giving techs for guys showing displeasure for crappy calls is just insane, I mean what did the NBA offices do all summer? is this the best they could do to help the game? they need to look at the offensive foul mess!! Anyway here are my keys..

Curry showed up, I hope people give him break, he scored, boarded and blocked shots, he was big tonight, as well as Q and DAvid lee. Q was a force early and his defense on mike miller in the second half was great, especially on the last play of the game. Balkman inpressed when he was in, he can jump, he is quick and he can defend. Noticed rudy gay didn't get off his lucky throw up shots when balkman was on him. Our guards penetrated, and we hit shots....

Back to david lee, I mean he is going to give channing frye a run for his money at that starting PF spot.. WOW is all I have to say.. I also want to give props to nate and craw, they played better defense than marbury and francis who were just a hot mess late in the game. Crawford penetrated at will and got a key steal on scrub ass atkins in the 3rd ot... He and Q really gave us a lift and Lee was a monster... Nate was gritty and handled the ball well...

We also ran and pushed the ball, and it also helped that the grizz could not hit FT's. I mean talk about choke jobs by mike miller.. wow....

I like the way we ran the ball, and rebounded that was the biggest key early, spreading the floor, I mean lets be honest, the knicks have 4 guys that can get past their man at will, that is going to be a test for a lot of teams..

Now lets address the defense. It is just a damn shame that our guards can't keep the likes of chucky atkins out of the lane, marbury was shameful, nate and craw did better but geez, we are not going to be a good team, if we can't keep clowns like atkins out of the got damn lane!!!! I mean if anything, the fact that you are the better player marbury should at leat make you want to shut this guy down.... Geez...

This win would have been a lot better had we put this game away up 19, but I will attribute the comeback to some jackass officiating, it was a joke, but we have to get better on the boards, guys like warrick and lowry went crazy, I like lowry but 10 boards? WTF...

Good win. I will take 1-0 with a win on the road. We are far from a finished product, but we do have a lot of young good pieces. Lee again is a beast, so I guess it is fair to say he is On his way to Superstardom.. I mean I am using the tyrus thomas measuring stick...

Go knicks!

Not a bad observation although I hardly agree with you on anything you said. But like you, I'll take the road win anyday

The Knicks are a very young ballclub, upfront and as far as winning goes, so there will be many nights when the team will gain big leads over their opponents only to not know how to maintain their intensity. I wouldn't be too upset over that ... it comes with the territory

The Grizzlies are soft inside the paint but you would never know that judging by how they abused us.

yea bigpimpin, warrick and gay were all over the boards, I really was upset at how the game was called regarding the offensive fouls, it just got to a point where the grizz stopped playing defense and just started running uner guys when they got beat. I just think that kills the game. But hey, we are young and it was refreshing to see Lee, and balkman and curry on the floor instead of Mo taylor and malik rose..

why can't our guards stay in front of chucky atkins?

our Guards couldn't stay in front of Milt Palacio & Tyronn Lue last season... what makes u think they'd be able to stay in front of Chucky Atkins?

I am so disappointed in Stephon Marbury it's not even funny. Sure, he averages great numbers but watching the games make you realize there are instances where numbers do not tell the entire story

Get rid of this guy

I know exactly what you're talking about but he played well last night and he's shown stretches of brilliance like during last year's 6game winstreak. If he can just shut his mouth, not quit on the team when times get rough and blame everyone but himself & we'll be ok

Marbury played well,
Atkins was just feeling. Cant stop a man when he is in his "zone."
Clearly atkins was.
I love the get rid of marbury threads... it's like get rid of him and then what ? bring back eisley ?
Marbs was the reason we got to the 2nd OT. After the win, he was the first one off the bench chairing on the reserves. This guy is trying.

are we too new to comment on this? I am of the same opinion, marbs played a solid game and looks to be in contribution mode this season...that can only be a good thing.

There's nothing wrong with Steph's game. He also had some good defensive plays, but we tend to forget about all of those and only remember when he gets beat. The thing is that there's really very few guards who can stop the other teams guard when they're using picks and rubs to get open. Sure there were some clean drives by Chucky, but mostly they came with him using his teammates to pick off our guards or at least bump them enough for him to get free. Chucky is also a Vet that knows what he's doing.

In any event this team needs to get on the boards much better. Memphis has some really quick and athletic guys tho and that helped them to crash the boards. Still the Knicks need to fix that part of the game.

The Marbs numbers are not good in this game.
If you add 4 turnovers, 6 fouls, and just 2 rebounds to his 19 points, 8 assists in 45 min his numbers are crap.
I am not talking about his defense - which is worst that crap.
I am not talking about Steve - his game was horrible all around.
This is clearly the worst starting backcourt in the NBA.
I fill for Craf, Nate, Lee, and Q who have extra job to clean up the damage Marbs and Steve do. Not to mention that Curry and Fry cannot clean up after this "magic" duo and then are blamed for bad defense.
Just pathetic... I want to see this 2 gs somewhere far away from the Knicks...

Marbury did not have a bad game. 19 points, 8 assists, 2 rebounds 4 TOs is not awful.

Marbury is the reason we stayed in the game in the first OT.

Not a great game, but not awful.

Actually it's not all complicated and sofisticated as TKF laid out. The game followed suit to how pre-season games were played. The Knicks can beat teams who don't have enough guns in their bullets but with Pau and Stromile Swift the Griz were fighting an uphill battle and almost prevailed. The Knicks will lose to teams at full strength. The next game they should win and then after that watch out.

Now instead of Eisley and Ward and Layden EXCUSE , I see you subsitute them for Mo Taylor and Malik Rose.

Your comparisons excuses crack me up TKF.

I used to think oppossing guards would get up to play the knicks in the Garden and all, but this last game aagainst the grizz was on the road and they still destroyed us on the drive.

A solid defensive effort from the self-proclaimed best point guard in the league.

well, look at it this way. Warrick got gasol minutes and he had a monster game, could you see gasol putting up much better numbers than that? and rudy gay looked better than swift has in years, swift scares no one. To say the knicks will lose to teams at full strength is not fair....

I wholeheartedly agree with tkf. Gasol's numbers were replaced last night. I'm not sure who people think Stromile Swift is.
