Man, talk about misleading thread title. You didn't talk about David Lee one time.

Did somebody say "the messiah returns."?

Nah, but I did say:

"Friends, Romans... countrymen.... lend me some money!...

for I have not come to praise Isiah Thomas or to bury him...."

I just want to finally see some entertaining Knicks basketball

I'll drink to that. For once this season is about the players. For once. I dont have to hear about the coach's sub patterns, called plays, any of the past excuses. Its all about the horses we have. If they cant succeed now they NEVER will, at which point I think we can agree to get new horses and (of course) a new GM.

Some good hoops would be a welcome change of pace.

Might as well talk about Lee in this thread. He really is the x-factor on this team this season IMO. His rebounding, energy, passing, effort make the team better. And he's an asset in open court game, so if the Knicks push the pace he really ought to be out there. Giving him 25 mpg and a regular role could have the biggest correlation with the Knicks won/loss record.

I think if Lee is the starting line up I think we are a .500 team. I think Frye becomes the best backup center in the NBA or a great PF against other team's benchs for 30 minutes a night, and Lee is a better up tempo player for the 3 guard starting line up we are essentially starting

I can't believe I'm saying this but welcome back earl. The board just wouldn't be the same without you.

wow mickey, it's been a long time since I saw you post something that positive... =))
But I do agree with you though, lee is the glue that would make our starting 5 work.

Lee needs to start with Jefferies out. We can't have a front line of QRich, Frye, Curry. Qrich, Lee, Curry at least makes sense. Bring Frye and Balkman off the bench, it'll be a great bench.

I have been saying all along since the end of last year that I wanted Lee starting, whether Jeffries is out or not. Lee brings to the starting lineup that it lacks and sorely needs like rebounding and hustle. Frye's strengths aren't utilized in the starting lineup and they would be utilized if he was coming off the bench with Jamal, Q, and Nate.

Islesfan - no matter the differences of opinion, we're ALL Knicks fans and most of us want the team to win every night. It's a new season. How cool is that?

Be Still My Heart

Marv - next thingb you'll be breaking out the bootleg Richie Guerin autograph.

Last season, as I watched Lee go baseline on the Hawks from three rows back, with grace and style.... I could not help ask, "why the hell is Larry jerking around with DIS guys minutes?"

From early reports, Lee already has some chemistry with Renaldo. No, I'm not sugesting that combo is the answer... but they could be fun to watch grow together in the open court.

Just squint real hard and visualize a pair of clamshell adidas superstars and the Knicks jersey number 22. Click your heels three times and repeat, "there was no forward like DeBusschere... there was no forward like DeBusschere...."
