I am not worried if any of the guards get hurt, but if Curry, Lee or Frye are out for an extended period of time this will really hurt this team. With Curry only able to play 25-30 minutes a game Lee and Frye really will have to have big years.

I think we can deal with Frye or Lee missing a few games. Lee IMO is the perfect compliment to Curry rebounding wise and Jeffries can do the help defense. Likewise, Frye can cover for Lee missing a few games. If either of them misses over 30 games, we are in trouble. IMO, if Stephon goes down even for 12 games, the Knicks are done.

If Channing or David goes down you have one person to play the 4 and no depth. You take Jeffires out of his strength in guarding a 3. Having Nate, Steph, Jamal, and francis, the knicks have depth in the backcourt. I guess I am the dumb one in thinking that the knicks can win without Steph.

If we lost Steph and Crawford for an extended period of time that would hurt us. Francise, Q-Rich, and Robinson are somewhat interchangable, but I think Marbury is the best PG we have, and Crawford is our clutch shooter that will win games for us at the end. We need both of those two to remain healthy for most of the season.

In the frontcourt, Lee and Frye have to stay healthy. Of the two, I am more concerned with Frye b/c he is going to be our primary frontcourt scoring option before too long. He is simply too good and unlike Curry, he can actually play defense and be left on the court in the 4th quarter. I think Jefferies or Balkman can step in and provide alot of what Lee brings, but we still need Lee to stay healthy if we are going to make the playoffs, which is my goal for this year.

I agree about Frye needing to stay healthy but you cant expect Balkman to play the 4 this year and be successful.

If Curry or Frye go down the season is almost over in my opinion. We can replace anyone else.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

The Knicks record was basically indentical last season with or without Marbs so you arent being dumb

basically identical with the exception of the 6 game winning streak.

I beg to differ on the virtual identical moniker.

But last year, larry lost every game, so I guess you could have a point.

good question by the way...hmmm...tough call.

I'd have to say crawford going down would kill the knicks as would one of our bigs.

Our offense is the smoothest when we have quick players that think well on their feet and on the move.

In the Net game, he had balkman, jefferies, lee, crawford, nate and lee playing minutes. I know it's preseason, but that shows our depth.

So the injury will have to be one that hits us in the head, not the body.

And even with some calling craw the "captain" it's clear an injury to crawford (the future of the back court) would damage the teams ability focus.

Zeke is a good coach, so in terms of injuries that would "kill" the knicks, it would have to also be an injury to curry.

So, I'm going to say crawford curry injury and we are done.

The philly game, close matchup, tight during the game, on the road, those were the two to kept us in and game and ultimately played huge roles in the victories.

Curry Crawford both going down the same time, trouble.

BIP contradiction sentence:
however...I believe the team is deep enough to withstand any injuries. The way we are currently set up, JJ1, Malik and others are injured/tinged. So, an ADDITIONAL injury would kill us...but if everyone is healthy, no injury kills us...unless they happen in the same court (front and back, i.e. frye and lee, craw and nate, Qrich and JJ2)

Frontcourt players are the only worry. But if an extended injury happens we have a lot of trade flexibility now.

5-17 without him
17-43 with him.

I said with the exception of the 6 game win streak.
So that would mean:
5-17 without him
11-43 with him.

29.4% without
39.0% with marbs

even if you account for the smaller sample size...however, I may need another poster to verify that.

with the exception of the 6 game win streak:
25.6%
pulling out the largest winning streak and leaving in the longest losing streak.

I'm questioning the use of the term virtual identical.

Your winning percentages are off I believe.
5-17= .227 winning %
17-43= .300 winning %
11-43= .203 winning%

Perhaps we need someone capable of simple math (not me) to give us a lesson but here's how I do it....

Divide the wins by the total games (W+L).

So using those records I get:

5/22 = .227
17/60 = .283
11/54 = .204

Any injury to Isiah Thomas will be critical-since he is the only guy these players will play for.

I'd say Jamal because he balances the bench and is reliable in the stretch.
