Posted by 4949:Posted by tomverve: That was a good clip, but there's no way in hell he's a drill seargent coach. He yells a lot, but it's more like he's having fun. Drill Seargent coaches are Larry Brown, Grep Popovich and so it seems, Scott Skiles, Jim Calhoun and of course, Bobby Knight. Can you seriously say Isiah coaches similarly then those guys? BTW, that wasn't a knock on Zeke. It's just not his style to be a "Drill Seargant" coach. It wasn't in Indy and it definitely doesn't seem to be that here. He IS ultra competitive, he DOES know a ton about bball, and way early on, he does seem to have the players responding well to him. So we'll see how it goes throughout the season. I think he'll be fine as coach. I just don't want him having the GM responsibilities. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

Posted by CrushAlot: He didn't say David Lee couldn't make a J. He said that everyone else said he couldn't make one and he worked hard last Summer to work on that. I'm sure Isiah is quite pleased with his sophomores. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

It's funny to me that the team comes out and does EXACTLY what we want them to do and there's a complaint about the way Isiah coaches. This guy can't get any respect with some people. That team looked so much different than any Knick team i've seen in the last 25 years. You'd have to go back to the Clyde teams to find the team sharing the ball that much and moving that well (and no i'm not saying this team is that good). I just hope they continue to improve and jell.
We may just have a team to really get behind again. Don't Lee and Balkman just give you goose bumps? These are 2 guys that Isiah took some flak for drafting. Lee they said he should've taken a chance on a high potential guy with that pick and Balkman we all know they wanted us to take Williams and get Balkman later. No matter how he got them I love the way they play and with Williams, he's a very big talent, but I don't think we needed him, so i'm glad we got Balkman. Remember that in Isiah's system you don't really rely on great PG play. Its a team passing game and really doesn't focus on a traditional PG for plays to be executed. |

Posted by nixluva: I think that we on the board have become so accustomed to bad mouthing whatever the KNicks do it hard for some to change their ways about the Knicks. That I think is also a work in progress just like the Knicks are. That will eventually fade as the wins mount in the course of the season. But if losing isn't resolved then the tone will be the same as it has been since the losing trend started. I remember the board when most everyone thought the Knicks could do no wrong. The Knicks were a team worth bragging about, we need these days back again. Lets hope the team is going in the right direction, because Isiah seems to close to helping the Knicks players turn the corner on the losing. Lets hope that he can make it a reality for us all. |
