Did anyone else have to "numb" themselves both last season and the season before? I've been a Knick fan since the early 90's and throughout high school and college supported them and watched every single game, wore Knicks merchandise, and had pride in the team. It seems in the last four years, because of the lack of players who play with pride, I had to "numb" my senses and feelings towards the team... I sort of look at the Knicks from an outside standpoint. I love the Knicks and wish them the best, but I feel that I have to be careful about this season as well, just not to let myself down. There were times years age in the mid to late 90's where I'd actually get angry when the Knicks lost because my heart was into it - Now, I don't get mad. I may get a little upset because the teams direction is different and that the whole team is basically "parts" of what other teams don't want or need, with a few exceptions, but I hope soon to regain my love to 110 percent... Right now, I have to "numb" myself until I see that this team is worth rooting for. I do not like any other team but the Knicks and will always support them, but they must show me their pride for me to support them 110 percent.

I agree. We lost them off of our cable or satelite system a couple of years ago and I didn't bother to pursue it. In the past I had gone years without missing a televised game. I am hoping that I am wrong but my gut tells me that this team will not be right until Thomas and Marbury are gone. I still get excited at the start of the season but after the draft and this off season I am at a new low point already.

thats exactly how I feel its unbelievable. Even during the past 4 years I just couldn't wait to see the Knicks play. I almost lost interest last year but than we aquired Brown/Curry. This year, being stuck with Marbury/Francis & not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for at least another 3yrs i don't know. I'm excited about the start of the season. I just hope the excitement last all season unlike the past seasons where the season was over after 10-20games

I don't see it as deliberately "numbing" myself. I just gradually lost interest. I actually paid more attention last season than I did the prior one because of the promosing rookies. The 2004-2005 season, I was completely disengaged and missed a lot of games.

You know it looks like he tried to play like LJ with a shot back, and suprise suprise it did not work out for him.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

You should have added Rose's two good plays for the year to make it fair.

I put this on LB more than Rose. LB knew Rose was not a primary option player and is more of a garbage offensive player. Forcing him to act as a 2nd option on offense was just bad coaching and yet another sign LB was trying to lose last year. When Rose is used right, he can be an effective player.

TheGame, I LOVE your sig. Nate definitely speaks for me. I would love nothing more than for this team to have a big year and then watch all those people come around later and say how they knew this team could play well all along.

I just hope they can continue to work hard and improve. I don't believe Isiah will allow this team to get comfortable at all this season. He's a driven guy and I know he wants to eventually win a title. That hunger he has will likely be passed on to his team.

Thanks Nixluva. When I saw the quote, I knew that had to be the theme for this year. IT is developing an "us against the world" mentality to breed unity and unselfishnes on the team. So far, it looks like it is working. Hopefully, the team can survive the tough schedule at the beginning of the year and can go on to have a great season.

No one is going to say they knew it all along. See the problem I have is that you want the Knicks to do well just to feed your own ego. I have no problems saying I was wrong, if the Knicks actually play well. This shouldn't be about your own ego, it's about the Knicks succeeding.

Do you even KNOW ME? How do you know what my motivation is when it comes to the Knicks? I've been following this team since the 70's I've seen just about everything with regard to this team. My problem is that so many of you guys have been making jokes and telling us this team is full of guys who will never get it and can't do this or that. So when the team looks pretty much exactly like the rest of us have been saying now you want to act like i'm supposed to forget that? FREAK YOU MAN! I'm not forgettin NOTHIN! I hope this team has a GREAT year and those who actually LIKE this roster and the coach will take even more pleasure from this team proving so many doubters wrong. Everyone here is a fan of the team, but NOT everyone actually LIKED the Roster and the Coach. I do and I stood up and said so even tho it wasn't popular. I didn't change my take on the team after the team stunk last year.

Now understand that this is just one pre-season game. I'm not trying to say this team is going undefeated cuz they had a decent game. I'm just happy to actually SEE the things some of us have been saying we could expect. Aren't you glad to see the team actually running a motion offense, when so many doubted they had the mental capacity to do so?

Good for you. What do you do if the team -- not saying they will, but what if they do -- stink this year, too? Still like the team, and be optimistic next year. And the year after that? When will you draw the line. That's all I want to know. When do *YOU* say, ok, I admit it, it's not a good roster?

I been following the Knicks since the late 70's and I'm still here. I met guys like Bernard King, Sly Williams and Bill Cartright and those old teams, the old schooled guys played hard knocks ball. It was great, but I'm still here and I will continue to be a Knicks fan. How many can say that?
I'll never trust this' team again.

nyk4whenTheyAreWinning is always like that...he'll be the first to say he always liked the team and roster and coach and and and.

He's more of the follower type though.

Once one of his leaders concedes they are good, he will fall in line.

I don't know what the point of this video is. I saw it already on youtube. It focuses on his bad plays and if you noticed, they gathered all of it from different games. They could easily gathered a bunch of junk on any of the players.
I'll never trust this' team again.
