A small plane has crashed into a building in New York City, on East 71st Street. Details just coming in now.

A small aircraft has crashed into a high-rise residential building at 72nd Street and York in Manhattan, police said. Police are en route to the site, said to be at 525 E. 72nd Street. Flames and smoke could be seen pouring from the high rise apartment as fire engines raced to the scene.

Yeah, I saw that on the news too. I hope this isn't more terrorism.

I've always been surprised this does not happen more often.

some pilot saw a pair of boobies in the window and was pulling an Eddie Griffen in the copter. Saying right now its NOT a terror related incident

CNN just reported it was a small, fixed wing airplane, not a helicopter.

i just walked over there. it's crazy on the ground and in the air. every kind of emergency vehicle, siren, sky full of choppers. no more definitive news at the site than on the reports. reporters were scurrying everywhere for any witnesses.

smoke is still coming out but i couldn't see flames. word was the firemen took elevators up and were busting down doors to look for injuries.

crazy, the fire is out.. only 2 people confirmed dead looks like they were the people in the plane... All signs are pointing to it being an accident. Lets try not to panic too much thats what they want us to do, Just stay alert... But looks like its just an accident

This guy at my job says his wife just saw it as it happened from her window at work.

My pops called me worried.

It does sound a lot like 911. I think after 911 if new Yorkers are freaking out about this they need to chill. Besides we have the son of Abe begota(sp?) on the schene.

Apparently they found Lidle's passport in the debris. Some sources are saying he was the pilot and is in fact among the 4 dead.

Such a sad story.
