The Knicks' starting five is not set and Thomas said it won't be, until at least opening night.

"Even after opening night, there still could be some changes," he said, adding there could be changes the first 15-20 games. "Really, it's about building a team."

Thomas refused to call any player a lock to start.

Just for giggles, who do you guys want to start (if you want to list who you think Isiah will start, do that seperately)? I am curious with all these "starting caliber" players we have what we think we should do.

I would like to see:

Curry
Lee
Jefferies
Crawford
Francis

With Frye(coming off the bench with 30+ minutes per at C/PF) eventually will take over for Lee when he learns to play better D, and Marbuy eventually starting over Francis when he learns how to lead and eats a piece of humble pie.

I know its unpopular, unsavory & unwelcome to be positive about the Knicks...but I am looking forward to the growth of Lee, Frye & Jefferies. Put Crawford in that group too. The team was so unlikeable last year. Such a bunch of spoiled jerks, including the coach. Lee, Frye, Jeff, Craw & hopefully Nate are kids that we can build (successfully) around.

There are really only four possible lineups based on talent and politics: Marbury, Francis/Crawford, Jeffries, Fyre/Lee, and Curry. I think the final starting lineup will be Marbury, Francis, Jeffries, Frye, and Curry. I would like to see Crawford start but i don't see it happening. Our sixth man will be Crawford, with Lee, Q, and Nate rounding out the rotation. Both Roses and JJ1 will play sparingly this year.

I would like to TRY this FIRST:

Steph
Steve
Jeffries
Frye
Curry

Bench - Jamal, Q Rich, DLee - Maybe Jerome once in a while(we really need a backup center)

IF steve doesent play well, i'd start Jamal... And if Qrich doesent play well, i'd play Jalen over him... But thats how i'd start things off...

The only other debate (which is what i do in 2k7) is Start Qrich... Try to get him off to a fast start.. and bring Jeffries off the bench since he is so vercitile he can even play backup center... But then you arent really utilizing him you are just plugging in a leak with something that doesent really fit.

I want to start

Marbury
Crawford
Jeffries
Frye
Curry

I like the bench being led by another PG. The second team can run Steve, Q, Jalen Rose, Lee and Jerome. Thats a pretty decent 2nd team IMO.

Curry
Frye
Jeffries
Jcraw
Francis

2nd team:
Curry/Frye/James rotate
Lee
Jalen
Marbs
Nate
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I would like to see:
Jamal
Nate
Jeffries
Lee
Frye
Bench - Marbs, Steve, Curry, Q Rich

IT will start:
Marbs
Steve
Jeffries
Frye
Curry
Bench - Craf, Lee, Qrich, Nate, JJ or Miller sometimes at center
Lee and Craf can start over Curry and Steve later if last 2 will never improve from what they are now
Nate can be a starter if Marbs will be hurt or pissed

I would like to see Starbury start for another team. "SonicBury". "BlazerBury". "BuckBury" (TJ goes down hurt).
"HeatBury", "SpurBury", "LakerBury".........

Someone give us an expiring contract for him. Put him on an established team would be best for him and perhaps the only way he can be traded.

Craw
Francis
JJ
Frye
Curry

With Q, Nate (needs to be a point) and Jerome, Lee off the bench.

9 man rotation. Just like its suppose too.

Marbury
Nate
JJ
Lee
Curry

2nd unit: Crawford, Frye, Jalen Rose

Marbury and Nate dont have to worry about getting others involved. They can just attack on offense and Curry/Lee can follow them to the glass and clean up. I need Lee on the defensive boards to start the game.

2nd unit is more about passing and team ball when Marbury is out of the game (I would keep his gimpy ass to 30 mpp)

Thats it... those 8. Maybe Q cracks the rotation, or Malik for foul trouble. Francis either has to play 35 mmp plus or not at all, so I'm pretending he simply doesnt exist. Ahh.... what a happy place

I agree w/ that rotation ... Very realistic - including all your bench rotations.

I thought I was going to be the only one to put Marbury and Nate in the starting lineup.

I think that's what Isiah will do too. I wouldn't start Francis but I'm okay with the lineup because the biggest issue to me out of the 5 starters is what he's going to do with Frye. I really want Frye to be given a large, consistent role (at least 30 mpg) because I think he's ready for it. I'm hoping Lee will be the 1st player off the bench each game. I even gave a little thought to the idea of starting him at SF but I think Jeffries can gaurd guys on the perimeter better.

Curry
Lee
Q
Francis(only because marbury/Craw are terrible together)
Marbury

if Q can't hit the side of a barn then take him out. That lineup needs at the least his potential to hit some 3s
