http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/42213/20060914/marbury_wants_to_see_garnett_in_new_york/

Pioneer Press - Stephon Marbury said Wednesday he would embrace playing for the Timberwolves if he were traded to Minnesota, but hopes he is a New York Knick for life.

"I would love to play with Kevin," Marbury said. "We would love for him to come to New York. If he wants to play with me in New York, that would be great. That's the only way it's going to happen, because I'm in New York."

This topic keeps coming up with Marbury and Garnett, it's really quite weird that they both keep talking about this, when theres smoke theres fire? Either way, I for one would love to see it happen.

As much as I like Garnett, let me be the first poster to come out and say, I would rather the Knicks hold onto the young players and continue to build instead of once again, mortgage the future for at the most, 1 year of action

How about a Shaq-like trade where we give up inferior younger players for about 4 good years out of KG?

Neither Garnett nor Marbury has 4 good years left. Stop fooling yourself.

If he liked KG so much he shouldnt have whined half the time he was in Minny the first time
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

my preference would definitely be to see Marbs traded as long as we got back no garbage contracts and got younger/added picks, etc.

But, I wouldn't mind adding Garnett to this squad if we sent some garbage (JJ, Eddy 'Fats' Curry, Q, Francis) back to Minny & the net additional salary wasn't completely one sided.

I can't see Dolan signing off on any deal where our cap number worsens- I think the one year ultimatum to Isiah is proof that he has been burned once too often (Francis, Jalen Rose, JJ).

it was cool to read this. For the first time I realized what Charlie Brown's teacher's words would look like if they were actually written down

All Marbury wants to do is win - unless it's too cold, or too far from home, or if he has to practice, or take coaching, or play second fiddle, or play in a system he doesn't like, or play defense, or play with a PF who wants to kick his ass, or has to fly coach, or, or, or....

We'll Steph is 29 now and in 4 years including this upcoming season, he'll be 33. that's not ancient. Heck Nash is 32 and no one is saying he can't play anymore. He just had the 2 best seasons of his career!!! This is a guy that has to lay on his back when he's not on the court. There were concerns about his stamina in Dallas, which is why he was let go. Certainly Steph has a chance to be effective over the same part of his career that Nash has.

If KG was brought in i'm sure he'd still be able to give enough to help this team contend. It might re-energize him to be in a winning situation again. He's 30 yrs old. He might have at least 3 good years left. In truth that's about as long as you can expect most good title runs to be anyway. Unless you have a Magic, Bird, Jordan, Duncan or Shaq most teams get at most 2 shots in the finals and then taper off. Would it be worth it to actually contend for a title for about 3 years? Given that we don't have anyone on KG's level right now, and we don't have any assurance that we will, it might be worth the risk. KG right now is still a 20/10 player and even if he dips he's still gonna be better than most players.

I am sure KG would rather play with Randy Foye than deal with Steph again

Stephon marbury may be 29 years physically, but he is "burned up" in the head. No one is saying Nash can't play anymore because he has won the last two MVP's. Stephon won 23 games last year.

Stop trying to compare Steve Nash to Marbury. Please. That's why his name is Steve Nash.

You cannot put KG on Knicks team.
The way HE plays and the way THEY play will be so emberasing that they will shoot themselves

Maybe Marbury should start having some good years before we talk about how many he has left.

KG to NY would be great as long as we don't mortgage everything we got, because he does not put us in championship contention even with Marbury.

That being said, Marbury has to shut up about Garnett in the papers before he costs us another first round pick in a tampering case!

Marbury needs to worry about the roster he has.
