Putting all negative comments about his contract aside, I think all serious knick fans would have a hard time admitting that Jared "I average 6 points a game" Jeffries should have the privilege of wearing no. 20. I am the biggest advocate for his number being retired, as many would agree it should be done. I dont have to list how great of a shooter, model player on and off the court, and how highly respected he was within the NBA community. The 2 things bothering me are, one, I have not come across any article or mentioning of this, quite honestly, discraceful act anywhere. When Oakleys number was given to McDyess it was a big deal, he was in the picture holding the jersey, people talked about it. Knowing Allan, he probably said "go ahead, let him wear it", becuase thats the kind of character man he is. We ALL know that number deserves to be, at the very least, not worn for a long time, any given retirement consideration. And two, to give it to a role player averaging 6 points a game on Isiah's ever changing roster, less than one year after he retires is incomprehensible! Im shocked that the franchise brass can let something like this happen to a Knicks Great. Please refrain from negative comments, theyre not welcome. Thank You.

and given that he is still on the payroll, the number probably shouldn't be given out.

Yes, I've heard that too. I think him and Houston are close and Jeffries asked for permission from Allan.

Huston was scoring 20 points, JJ2 can score about 6...
So why he want the number 20?

Thats begs the question, After getting mushed in his first ever posting does this mean Retire20 is now retired from this forum?

Does that mean that no one else on this site can use the number 20 in their screen name. Allanfan's in trouble.

maybe his retirement will be as short as Junior Seau's.
